Marinette's POV
I searched the twinkling lights of Paris with wide eyes, admiring the beauty that always concealed all the stains that came in many forms ranging from crimes to a simple argument. For every light there was a shadow and for every shadow, a light. Being Ladybug, made me a light. But the only reason Ladybug existed was because of the suffering of the darkness that was Hawkmoth.
Sighing, I turned and my eyes met a small, black cat. I grinned, bending over to pet the little thing. "Hey, kitty."
"Good evening Bugaboo." I jumped, whipping around to see Chat Noir parading there, baton in hand.
"Oh! Hello, Chat Noir," I chuckled at my jumpiness.
"So, how is M'Lady this evening?"
"Tired," I sighed, standing up, "I made a mistake and I had to pay for it today. I love and hate the mistake that I made though, so if I were to be in that situation again, I might have made it again anyway."
"How can you love a mistake you made?"
"Oh... I don't know. If the situation happened in different circumstances, then it wouldn't have been a mistake, if that makes any sense."
Chat Noir paused, "I guess it a little makes sense."
"Well at least I can make sense sometimes." I tittered at how stuttered I would get around Adrien. I looked up into Chat Noir's big green eyes. They caught me off guard and I got lost in them for a few seconds.
"Um..." Chat Noir rubbed his head, ruffling up his already disheveled hair. Wow... I never realized how soft his hair looked. "Should we start patrol?" I shook my head, clearing it.
"Oh. Yeah... we should." I broke my gaze and stared over the city again. "Okay, you take this side I'll take that side."

I detransformed on my balcony after patrol and entered my bedroom through the trapdoor. Even though it was almost 11:30, I rushed downstairs to start baking. I planned to make yellow, lemon flavored macaroons and I was going to make them earlier but I ran out of time with homework and patrol.
The macaroons took about an hour to finish baking so I knew that I had about seven hours left for sleep. I snuck up the stairs with my cookies and into my bed. Although my eyes had been begging me to go to sleep for the past few hours, when my head finally hit the pillow, I couldn't sleep.
When sleep finally came, it was around 2:00 am; therefore, I slept through my alarm.
"Oh my goodness Tikki! I can't believe I slept through my alarm!" I zoomed out of bed and bolted to get ready, "How could this have happened?!"
"Um... maybe it's because you stayed up all night..."
"And why would I do that?"
The next five minutes rushed by in a blur and I finally got out the door running into about ten people on the way including...
"Luka?!" I exclaimed as I ran head first into him, "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry!"
"Oh, it's alright. I was actually, just going to find you."
"What? Seriously?" I glanced at my watch. 9:45. "I'm sorry Luka, I don't have any time!"
"Oh, it's alright, I only wanted to know if you could come to my band's show tonight."
I was already rushing away when he asked his question, "Um, Sure! Could we talk about it later though?!" I called, already across the street.
"Sure! See you then?"
"Yup!"
Rushing for the school, I heard a small voice from my bag, "Marinette! I've been trying to tell you that you've forgotten the cookies!"
I suddenly realized why I was late, "Oh, RIGHT! ... No time... I'll get them at lunch."
I then dashed for the school and up the stairs, into class, and smack into Adrien. His bag was already packed and ready to go to the next class. Why do I keep running into boys? "Oh! I'm sorry Adrien. I'm so clumsy... sorry." I suddenly realized how bad I looked. I only had one ponytail in, I was sweating crazily, and I still had my pajama top on. Luckily, I threw my blazer over top of it. My cheeks grew hot (Which didn't help much with the sweating).
He laughed, "It's fine! Are you -"
"Marinette?" I glanced around Adrien to see Ms. Bustier with crossed arms, tapping her foot. "May I speak with you?" I nodded feeling my blush deepen as everyone filed out of the class and she sat me down. "Marinette. You need to start showing up to class on time. You are doing a good job with your homework and getting good grades and if it were my choice, I'd allow anyone to be late if they were doing good on homework. But that it isn't my choice and even though I've been letting it slide, I'm going to have to tell someone if this continues. I can't let the other students think that it's okay to be late because you're almost two hours late sometimes. I apologize, Marinette, it just has to be this way."
I nodded in response and she let me go to my next class with downcast eyes.
