This is a really short chapter, but I hope you enjoy it! Also, if any of you have a YouTube, it would be awesome if you could check out the channel a few friends and I are running. It's Insert_fandom_here .  It might be easier to search for Annabeth Herondale. It would mean so much to me if you all would watch the videos!

Chapter 6

I awoke to the sound of Adelyn slamming a drawer shut. I groaned.

“What are you doing in here?” I yawned, “What time is it?”

“It’s time for you to get ready for training. And I’m here to make you look decent,” said a second voice from the extensive walk-in closet.

Mara walked in carrying a small stack of clothes.

“I think you mean ‘fabulous,’” corrected Adelyn with a smile.

“No,” Mara retorted, “Just decent. Training will be hard enough, even without three inches of makeup and a petticoat.”

I sat up. Maybe Mara wasn’t quite as insane as I thought, then again, she was wearing sparkling-rainbow colored false eyelashes. Seriously. I was blinded every time she blinked.

                “Here.”

She handed me a form-fitting tank top and a pair of dark color shorts. The dark blue shirt had the number four on the back in the same shade of black as the shorts.

After I quickly changed, Dylan and I ate a quick breakfast. I opted for a protein smoothie, knowing that I would need all of the extra healthy-vibes I could get. Dylan, I noticed, was still choosing sweet junk foods. I stared at him as he ate a muffin that was filled with at least two pounds of chocolate chips. I suddenly snapped out of it as he took the last bite.

                “Stop that!” I snapped.

“Stop what?” Dylan asked, his mouth still full.

I was about to speak when Adelyn answered for me, “I don’t know what Delta was going to say, but you shouldn’t talk with your mouth full! And I thought the inner districts might be somewhat civilized!”

“I was going to say that Dylan should stop eating so much sugary foods,” I said, glaring at Adelyn, “We’re about to be undergoing extreme physical training in about an hour, and in a few days we’ll be going into an arena filled with expert killers who all want us dead!”

I took a deep breath and saw that Dylan’s eyes were shinning as he struggled not to cry.

“Dylan,” Said Finnick quietly, “What Delta is trying to say is that she really wants one of you to get out of the arena alive. She’s really stressed and under a lot of pressure. She’s doing everything she can to help you, and she has some good advice. Just try to listen to her. She’s good enough to be a mentor.”
