Chapter 9: Laveder Mall

Not a lot happens at work today, after my shift is over I go home, I'm chilling in my room reading on my phone when there's a knock on my door
"Come in!"
Jungkook walks in holding my tablet
"Hey what's up?"
{Jungkook}"Hay I was wondering if you might be interested in playing this game I found with me?"
"Sure, I just need to download it on my phone"
{Jungkook}"Yay!!!"
We play games together until it starts getting kind of late
"I think it's time we go to bed"
{Jungkook}"Aww... fine! Let's play again tomorrow! Night"
"Night"
He leaves and I go to sleep, I get vigorously shaken awake in the morning and now we are walking to the mall
{Tae}"I'm so excited!"
He jumps up and down excitedly
"Hahaha, I can tell"
We arrive at the mall and start walking around
"So where do you want to go first?"
{Tae}"Hmm... there!"
He points to a small clothing store
"Ok"
We go in and start browsing around, at on point Tae starts goofing off and pretending he is some kind of fashion designer, I can't help but start laughing really loud and he gives me the biggest smile
{Tae}"Yay! I made you laugh!"
"Haha, I guess you did"
After saying that I suddenly become aware of the fact that people are staring at us
"Oops, heh I think we were being a little loud"
We sheepishly walk out of the store
{Tae}"Ok! Your turn! Where to next?"
"Hmm let's get something to eat!"
We look around and find a cute little cafe, we go in and sit down
"So what would you like to get? I'm going to get a London Fog and some pancakes"
{Tae}"Hmm... I think I will have the same"
After I told the waitress what we wanted we just sat there for a few minutes until Tae said something
{Tae}"I'm really glad you found me that day and decided I was worth your time... I was not in a good place, if you hadn't come along I don't know what would have happened..."
He gets this distant look in his eyes
"If you don't mind me asking... what... happened to you?"
{Tae}"I... uhh... well you probably already figured I was abandoned right?"
"Yeah...?"
{Tae}"well there's more to the story than that... you see... the reason I was abandoned is... because I... k..."
He looks down and starts to shake
"Hmm maybe we should find somewhere a little more private"
I usher him out after paying and find a quite out of the way place in the mall
"Ok, we are in private, now don't worry and take your time"
He still hasn't looked at me
{Tae}"before I continue, promise me, whatever I say, you won't leave me..."
His voice cracks at the end there, he seems to be on the verge of tears
"I... I promise"
He slowly nods
{Tae}"ok, then I'm going to start from the beginning"
(Flashback)
Tae's POV
That day my master was in a particularly bad mood, he just got fired from his job because he drank to much, when he came in he reeked of alcohol and was clearly very drunk
{master}"yyyou anndrrroid! Get mee annother fuckinng beerrrr! NOW!!"
I obediently do as I'm told
{master}"where tthe fuck is my dumbasssss daughter!?"
Footsteps scramble to get into the room
{daughter}"h-here father"
She squeaks out
{master}"There you are! What the fuck where you doing!!"
{daughter}"I-I was i-in my room"
{master}"who said you could be in your room!!"
He stands up and starts to approach her
{daughter}"n-no one f-father"
{master}"so why exactly where you in there!"
{daughter}"I-I-I-I'm Sorry f-father"
She backs away from him and starts to tear up, he grabs her by the hair and throws her across the room, he stomps over to her and starts to beat on her
*this is wrong*
I suddenly felt overwhelming urge to protect her, I'm holding a beer bottle so I take it and smash it over his head, it seems to stun him for a minute, then he stands up and looks at me
{master}"the fuck did you just do robot!"
He is coming closer and closer, I panic and lash out with the broken beer bottle, everything goes quite...
A strange gurgling come from master, I a strained voice he says
{master}"what have you done!"
He collapses to the ground and bleeds out, I stabbed him with the broken bottle, I drop the bottle and back away, I look over at the daughter, she has a look of horror on her face
"I... I didn't mean to"
I walk towards her, she screams
{daughter}"get away from me! You are just an emotionless android! You don't understand what you just did!! I hate you!! Leave and never come back!"
I stumble back pain ripping through me, I run out of the house and I don't look back, I run for hours until I just can't go on any longer, I sit down in an alley, I had probably been sitting there for a day debating what I should do, and just when I made up my mind I hear a voice call out
{???}"Umm hay what are you doing here?"
(Flashback end)
Y/N's POV
He breathes out a shaky breath and recollections himself
"Wow... you have been through so much, I'm glad you told me, I'm always going to be here for you ok? And the other boys will always be here for you too"
He looks at me and smiles

{Tae}"Thank you Y/N, you have such a kind soul..."
He looks so happy, but he also looks like he wants to say something else... I decided not to pry, if he wants to say something he is free to, after wandering around the mall for a little while longer we decided to head back, as we are walking back I see someone interesting

He looks like he's in deep thought, I don't know what it is about him that's making me want to say hi, I glance over at Tae and realize he is already on his way over
{Tae}"Hi! My names Taehyung, what's yours?"
The man looks up at him, he seems slightly surprised
{???}"Uhh hi, my name is Jiyong"
He gives Tae a puzzled look then he noticed me, he seems to become very tense, he starts to subtly look around for an escape, Tae looks back at me and beckons me over, I start to cautiously walk over keeping a smile on my face
{Tae}"Jiyong, this is my friend Y/N"
He looks at Tae suspiciously
"Hi Jiyong, I'm sorry for bothering you but I hope maybe we could be friends? Tae seems to have taken quite a liking to you"
{Jiyong}"...nice to meet you Y/N, if you don't mind me asking, what is a Human and a deviant android doing together? Especially a Human that works at CyberLife"
We both stand there stunned
"How did you know that?"
{Jiyong}"well first of all I have seen you working at the CyberLife store, and secondly I'm also a deviant android, we all have a certain aura about us, like we are trying desperately to hide something"
"I see... well for your information I stopped working at CyberLife"
{Tae}"and the reason we are together is because she saved my life, why are you so curious about us?"
{Jiyong}"because I find it very strange for a human and a deviant to be friends, normally if a human found a deviant they would report it immediately"
"Well I'm different, I want to help as many deviants and androids as I can"
He pauses for a moment
{Jiyong}"...so would you say you want all androids to be free to live the way they want?"
"Yeah, if I can I want to make that a reality"
He seems to be thinking about something
{Jiyong}"if I were to tell you there's a...  "group" that is trying to do just that, would you be interested in joining it?"
"I would"
{Jiyong}"what skills would you be able to offer them?"
"Well I'm sort of an android mechanic, would that be helpful?"
{Jiyong}"you can seriously fix androids?! That would be incredibly helpful, many of our members are very damaged, including... my best friend, would you be able to come with me and fix him?"
He looks so hopeful, there's no way I can say no
"Well I would probably need to get new parts for him, but I can do a temporary fix for now until I get the new parts"
{Jiyong}"oh thank you! Come follow me I will show you our hideout"
I look over at Tae, he gives me a reassuring smile, we follow him, hopefully this doesn't end badly...
