"Wake up." I heard a voice say. I opened up my eyes, to see that the dark room I was at, suddenly had light.
I saw Adam standing there, with a plate in his hand. He put the plate on the ground and then left. I took that as a sign for me to eat. I quickly started eating the food he gave me, afraid that he might come back and take the food while I still haven't finished.
Later on, Adam came and took the plate and got out. Not a minute later, he came back with a chair. He furiously grabbed me and tied me to the chair. I tried to fight him, but it was no use. He then stood in-front of me, with that sick smirk of his that I just want to punch off his face.
"So, princess. Tell me, how are you and your mom doing? And how's that little child? Jennifer was it?" He asked.
"Don't you dare bring up and mom, or my sister in this." I angrily said. Oh lord, give me strength so I can slap that motherfudder.
"Well, darling. Aren't you happy that your father is alive and healthy?"
"I'd rather have you dead." I said with no emotion what-so-ever on my face.
"Isn't that a little bit harsh?"
"The only thing that is harsh here is your face. It's harsh to look at." I said with a smirk on my face, knowing that the sassy me is still there. His face turned red from anger, and soon did mine as he slapped my hard in the face.
It wasn't the first time for me hit from my father, believe it or not. But it sure did hurt like a bitch. I clenched my jaw so hard. But I said nothing in the risk of being slapped again.
After staring at each other with hatred in both each others eyes, we heard a knock on the door. Adam suddenly smirked and started laughing. I frowned m eye-brows at him in a confused matter.
"Looks like we have a visitor." He said as he went to open the door. A figure stood at the door, but I couldn't quite see him -I knew it was a him, as the body belonged to a boy- as my dad was blocking the way.
"Wouldn't you want to say hi to a friend of yours, Kris?" My dad said, turning around, still blocking me view to that person.
I was by now more confused than ever. A friend of mine?
My father moved aside so I can see the person clearly. I gasped, shocked as ever. I can't believe I've been betrayed by my very own best-friend.
"I guess you guys don't need introductions, do you?" Adam asked, with that stupid smirk still on his face. Is it damn tattooed? Like, damn man. Can you do anything but smirk?
"No, I don't need you to introduce me to a scum bag." I said, glaring at my so called best friend. Who knew the things my dad did to me, but yet, goes along and helps him. Well, that explains why he made me go out and buy him some Starbucks. So my psycho dad could find me, and kidnap me.
"Kris, don't be like that." He begged.
"Don't be like what, Nick? Be sassy, hateful, and wanting to separate you neck from you body? Oh well, I'm sorry I can't help but feel that way. I wonder why?" I shouted at him.
Yes, Nick. That unfaithful bastard.
"Well, I'll leave you two to be. Careful, Kris. Don't get to angry. Wouldn't wanna see that beautiful face of yours be frowning." Adam said, leaving.
I kept my eyes on the ground, trying to understand everything that is going on now.
Apparently, Nick, have had connections with my father for who knows for how long. He helped my father kidnap me, and torture me, and now he's standing in-front of me, saying nothing.
"Kri-"
"Why?" I interrupted him.
"I can explain.."
"Go ahead, I'd totally enjoy listen to why you betrayed me in the most shallowest way ever."
He sighed.
"When I found out I was gay, I tried to hide it from my parents as they were homophobic. I was scared of what would they do, but then I got tired of hiding the true me, so I told them. When I told my parents I was gay, they practically disowned me. They kicked me out. I started living the streets as they left me no money to even buy me any food. I spent two days in the streets, no shelter, no food, and no water. Later, I found some guys who offered me some food in order for me to sell them some drugs. At first, I said no, as I couldn't sell drugs. I was scared. Later on, after I started to get thinner and thinner, I gave up and accepted their offer.
One day, as I was selling them I decided to smoke some. One after the other, I got addicted. Then when the guys gave me a package to sell, I smoked half of it, and the other half I sold them. The guys noticed that the money I gave them was only half the price of the joints, as I smoked a half of them. Then they started threatening me if I don't bring them the money, they'd kill me. I didn't know what to do. They stopped giving me packages to sell, and I was about to go mental. I was in a desperate need for joints, for food, and for water. They guys needed 25 thousands from me, the price of the joints I smoked, and I didn't have that money.
Then, I pumped into your dad, keep in mind that I still didn't know you. He offered me a shelter and food for free, and I couldn't say no. I told him about the guys that were on my back, and he paid them the money. I couldn't be more grateful for your dad. He then started giving me some joints, but a smaller amount everyday as he wanted me to stop. It was extremely hard, but he was there by my side, he even hired me some therapies to help me. And I knew for a fact that there was a catch. He told me to go to your school, your old one, and be friends with you. I couldn't say no, after all he did to me. At the begging, I was forced to be your friend, but then I actually noticed how a true friend you are, and I truly did love you, as a friend. But as the year was about to end, your father came to me and said that I should break you or something like that. And I didn't know how.
So, when you said you were gonna go to another school, I overreacted. It was the only way. I overreacted, I called you names, and I pushed you away in order to make you desperate so I can obey your dad. Later on, your father watched you as you went to the new school. He saw that you were happy, and he wanted me to destroy that. I refused, but then he threatened me that he'll show the record he had of me, when I told him that I used to sell drugs and such, to the police. I didn't know that he recorded me. So, basically I was forced to do this.
I got back close to you, and then one day he told me to let you go out on your own so he could finally grab you. And I had no choice but to have a sleepover with you, and make you go to Starbucks alone so he could kidnap you." He said, with tears filling his eyes, moving down his cheeks, falling to the ground.
I, myself, had tears too. I just never imagined, my best friend, Nick, would go through such hard times. I though I knew my best friend well, turns out I basically knew nothing about him.
"I'm sorry, Kris." He whispered. He looked at me straight in the eyes, and I broke eye contact, taking sudden interest to the ground.
As he noticed that there was nothing to say, he slowly walked towards the door, opening it. He glanced at me one last time with tears in his eyes. Then he left.
*****
Well, I guess nobody suspected Nick to have a part in this, or to him to have such a hard life. Meh..
