-Skip to Sunday. The day of the match-
To say that I was nervous was the least. Today was the day of the match. We'll be playing against another school called 'Wolfe's high school' on our soccer field. I currently am in the changing room and I could hear the people's cheering from here.
"Your ready Everett?" The coach asked. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't notice that everybody was ready and waiting for me.
"Uhh, yeah." I murmured as I went outside the changing room to the field with the rest of the team. As we got out, people's cheering got more loud. We stood on the middle of the field, and the other team are standing opposite to us. They look like the type that are so cocky, and that they think they will win, so there is no need to put effort in the match. But who am I to judge? Don't judge a book by it's cover, aye?
Both our coach -Coach Wilson- and they other teams coach -whom I don't know his name- shook hands, and I took that as a sign that we should shake hands with the other teams.
After shaking hands, and wishing them good luck, everyone was in there positions. As the whistle blew, the game started.
-
With only 5 minutes left in the game, it was a tie. Everyone was sweating as a pig, and were taking short breathes.
It was a tie, and I was worried that we might not score the last goal. The ball was now mine. As some players from the other team, came running towards me. I go right, where Louis is and I kick him the ball. As he was making his way to our oppenent's goal, he kicked the ball into the the direction of the goal
The goalkeeper blocks the ball, and he throws it in my direction. Although I have two players near, I jump and kick the ball as I twist my body. The ball flies into the goal as I hit the ground but it doesn't matter how hard I hit my body, because I scored a goal.
I SCORED A FREAKN' GOAL.
As I got up and started jumping around, happy that I scored a goal. The whistle blew addressing that the match had ended, and that we had won.
The other members of my team surrounded me, giving me pats on my back, tackling me, cheering me. Louis wrapped his arms around me and started spinning my in circles.
"Well done." A boy from the team we were against came over to me and said. He offered me his hand, for me to shake. Which I gladly accepted with a smile on my face.
The rest of the other team congratulated us on the win.
As we went to take a shower, and changed. The coach wanted to see us.
As we all stood in a line, facing the coach, in fresh clothes that doesn't contain horrible smell, or sweat.
"Congratulations guys on winning our first match in the year. This is exactly what I wanted from you. Just because you won one match, doesn't mean you could win all the others. I want you to have confidence in your self, but not too much confidence, or else it'll be called cockiness. Well done team" Coach Wilson said.
We all clapped out hands as if the coach was giving a speech in an award show. He flipped us off, and we laughed so hard.
Coach Wilson left, and as I was about to follow. "Since we all won, how about we have a little party at my house?" Harry asked.
"Tomorrow we have school, I don't like to go to school with a hangover." I explained.
"Not that kind of party! We'll watch movies, while wrapped in soft, warm blankets, eating delicious popcorn."
