Solo's  POV

When I got home I went and took a hot shower. I fucked up just now when Etoilè and I kissed. I can't drag her into my own personal shit she already has enough to handle from what she told Kai and I.

After my shower I put on a long black sweatpants and went to sleep.

3:20 am...
Thats the time I saw when I opened my eyes and looked at my alarm clock. I couldn't sleep, I was thinking about my life and how everything seems to be going against me. I can't drag French fry into my shitty life...I care about her to much to do that. Since I couldn't get back to sleep I decided to go for a run. I threw on a sweatshirt and got my phone and earphones. As soon as I got outside I started running  I didn't know where I would run to but I just  ran.

Etoilè's POV

I woke up and saw that it was 3:20 am. I couldn' t get back to sleep I had to many things on my mind so I put on a grey sweatshirt and went for a walk.  There was a clearing by a lake I found two weeks ago and there was a treehouse there where I went sometimes when I needed a break from reality. The walk from my house wasn't far so I got to the treehouse in ten minutes. I took out my phone and started scrolling through my insta when I heard a twig snap and something started climbing up the ladder to the treehouse I quietly moved to a dark corner and hid waiting for whatever was coming next. It finally got to the top of the ladder and that's when I realised who it was.

E: Solo!

He quickly flicks his head to the side and thats when I see it...the same sadness in his eyes that I saw last night.

S: Hey. What are you doing up here?

E: Thinking... I have to ask you something.
I say crawling up next to him.

S: Yeah?

E: What happened earlier? Why'd you just walk away?

S: Nothing.

E: Solo I'm not stupid. I know you're hiding something. When I look into your eyes all I see is sadness and anger. You always put up a convincing smile, you may be able to fool everyone else but you can't fool me. So are you gonna tell me what happened now?

I really didn't wanna push him but the curiosity was killing me.

S: Ok.

E: What?

S: I'll tell you. I'm in a gang. It wasn't really something I could choose between. My dad is the leader and you can't get involved with me I'm basically a walking target and bacause of that I have to live every single day knowing someone died because of me.

E: Who?

I asked curiously changing my focus from the lake infront of us to him.

S: My twin brother...Reed. I'm the older one and that means I'm supposed to take over the gang first when dad retires. Our rival gang killed him thinking it was me. They were trying to get rid of me, my brother and my dad so they could take over our gang. They weren't really interested in my sister and mom.

E: Wow! Okay. I'm really sorry.

I just sat there in utter shock. I thought I had it bad. I mean I do... but so does he.

S: Well you wanted the truth. You got it. No you know why we can't be together. And as hard as it might be you have to stay away from me.

E: But I can't.
I said just above a whisper. I scooted across to him and sat on the blankets. I turned my face to him and kissed him and he kissed me back. I was just waiting for him to pull back because this was WAYYY to good to be true.
