"How was school today?" Was the question my mum asked every day.

And I would say the same answer every time.

"Great!" Lie.

"I'm so glad, honey. Did you make any friends today?"

Stop mum, I didn't make any friends I'm freaking blind, I can't see anybody.

"Yes, mum!" Lie.

That was when I walk to my room and start listening to audiobooks.

Today I felt like I had to start something new. Maybe a fresh new look, so I could talk to people and become more confident.

"Mum, I need to change." I said to her after school.

She slams on her breaks as soon as she hears what I said.

"Luke, why would you want to do that?" I hear her say.

"I think it's time for a change."

"You sure you want to do this, Luke?" My mum asks me as I feel ice on my mouth.

"I'm sure." I was still stunned after I told my mum I wanted a lip piercing.

Liz usually never accepts it, thinks it's for hooligans.

After getting the piercing, I was home when I hear my phone ring.

"Hewo?" I try to answer. My lip felt a bit numb due to the ice so I couldn't speak right.

"Luke, hi!" It was Violet.

"Yeaw?"

"I was wondering if you wanted to hang out later, like go out for dinner or something."

Was this a date? Omg, omg, omg.

"Sure!"

After she tells me the details, I hang up and I start dancing weirdly.
