♦ Kokichi Point of View ♦
"Kokichi, it's time to get up for school," I heard the voice of my older roommate, he stood down the hall from my room. I rubbed my eyes and let my toes graze across the cold hardwood floor below. "Go it..." I mumble. I had already been up for an hour, my hands shaking violently, and my heart pounding against my chest, as the anxiety rose up my throat. I forced down the nagging feeling of tears rising and stood up grabbing my socks from the drawer of my dresser. I sat on the floor and pushed up the legs of my black uniform pants and slid on the long socks that reached right below my knees before putting on the recently polished black shoes.
I quickly fixed my pant legs and stood up and brushed off my shirt. I then grabbed my book bag and walked out of my room. I stared at my shoes as I walked down the hall, and not paying attention, I turned the corner earlier than I should have, bumping my head against the wall. "Kokichi, be less clumsy," the male in the kitchen sighed. I placed my hand on my forehead and walked out, placing my book bag on the chair and grabbed a band-aid, putting it on my forehead. I shook my head in embarrassment and took my seat at the dinner table as he placed a plate of pancakes in front of me, "Eat so you have energy for your first day of school," the corners of his lips curled up in a gentle smile and I obeyed, taking a bite of the mouthwatering food.
I quickly finished up my breakfast and put the plate in the sink. After cleaning up, I went to the bathroom, and brushed my teeth, looking at myself in the mirror, "I'll be okay... Right?" I mumble to myself, before shaking my head and walking out of the bathroom, turning off the light. I quickly grabbed my book bag and said my goodbyes before leaving for the bus stop. As I was walking down the stairs to the 2nd floor apartment I lived on, the door below me swung open and a tall boy with long dark cyan hair nearly fell out from the entrance of his apartment. I stopped and held my breath, looking down at him as he pulled himself up, his tiny body frame was tensed and jumpy, his pale fingers laced at the rim of his uniform jacket, and he quickly shut the door as a female screamed at him from inside the dark building.
He put his pale hand in his pocket and pulled out black fabric and pulled it over his face, he positioned the black mask over his mouth and nose, and squinted his golden eyes, looking up at me. I froze. "Who are you? How much d-did you see?" He asked, his voice shaken and frightened. My dress shoes lightly tapped on the metal stairs as I walked down, and shrugged as I pass him, ignoring the question. I continued to walk away, the grass brushing against my feet, making my polished shoes shiny with mist. The boy's shoes tapped against the sidewalk as he stumbled behind me, "H-hey, d-don't ignore me." He stuttered, standing behind me.
I turned around and glared at him, my violet eyes piercing into his golden ones. He shuddered and took a step back, his body tensing up once again, as if I were going to swing at him. "I saw a bit, I guess," I mumble, shrugging my shoulders, my uniform jacket rising and falling in beat. He rubbed his arm and looked down, ashamed, "I-I'm sorry," "Why?" I asked him, he looked at him, looking for the words to excuse his apology but thought of nothing, as his head dropped again, his hair falling over his shoulders. I sigh and walk over to him and grabbed his arm gently, "Come on or we are going to be late for the bus," he whipped his head up and looked at me, as the part of his face was showing tinted to a light pink. He swallowed hard, and chained his arm with mine, as we walked arm in arm with each other to the bus stop.
Shortly after we arrived at the bus stop the large bus roared to a stop, and the doors hissed open. We were the 2nd to last stop before we got dropped off at school, so the bus was packed full of students. The two of us stepped forward, and onto the bus. Our eyes landed on a spot in the back next across from a large guy with long dark green hair. He pushed up his glasses and stared us down with his glowing crimson eyes. The boy behind me grabbed my arm, and I swallowed down my fear and let the taller boy take the seat closest to the window and then sat down next to him. I glance back at the large male, our eyes lock, my heart begins to pound against my chest and I quickly look down at my lap.
