"WE ARE NOT PUTTING COUGH SYRUP IN THE CAKE!" "Awww why?? I'm gonna need it." Murdoc sighed, gently putting the freshly baked cake in the fridge to cool. "Mudz, how many times have I told you, everything will turn out just fine! They're only staying for the week, you'll be alright." 2d laughed at his worry, watching him close the fridge door and turn to him. "He's technically a teen anyways, 13 is considered a teen right?" 2d pondered, sitting on the kitchen table. Murdoc rolled his eyes and shifted over to his, gently putting his elbows on 2ds knees and looking up at him. "I'll try not to worry for you love..." He mumbled, burying his face in 2ds chest. He smiled, gently running his fingers through his hair. "Hey touchie!" He glanced over to see Noodle bouncing in the kitchen. She was dressed nice as usual, carrying ripped and torn streamers in her arms. "Ello love, what're those?" He asked, motioning over to the armful of decorations. "Just the mess we made when we decorated." She giggled, walking over to the trash can and dumping them inside. "Also, your mom says she's about an hour away!" She remembered, ignoring the childlike Murdoc curled into 2d. 2d smiled, completely ecstatic. "Alright! No time to waste then." He decided, looking down at Murdoc. He grabbed his face with his hands and lifted his head up gently like a puppy who's been sitting in your lap for too long. He swiped his bangs out of the way and placed a kiss on his forehead. "You better get a shirt on before they get here." He laughed. Murdoc nodded. "Yeah yeah, I'm going." He waved him off, slowly getting to his feet and stretching his gangly limbs. Noodle and 2d watched as he pulled up his pants and walked out of the kitchen reluctantly. Noodle turned to 2d. "You really think he can handle them both for a week?" She questioned. "It's a gamble at this point." He admitted, glancing around the kitchen to make sure everything was clean and in It's place. Noodle laughed and pat him on the shoulder. "Just make sure he doesn't mention anything dumb in front of a small soon-to-be 1 year old." She assured. "Noodle, when does he not mention stupid things in front of small children." He pointed out. Noodle cocked an eyebrow. "That is very true." She agreed, headed toward the door. "Alright, I'm gonna go tell Russel to get ready. I'll see you soon." She waved, leaving 2d alone with his thoughts. Please, please let this go well...
Everyone waited eagerly on the couch together, listening closely for the sound of a car approaching. Everything was in its spot, clean, and smelling nice. No one was shirtless or untidy, and everyone knew they had to act good and polite. 2d and Noodle were excited, Russel was happy to meet a child for once, and Murdoc was on the edge of a mental breakdown (more than usual). That's when they heard it, the sound of a car pulling up in their driveway. "Be warned, my mom is an attack hugger." 2d laughed, getting ready to answer the door. "You're tellin' me!" Russel laughed, nodding along. They watched as a tall lanky silhouette and a smaller childlike one approached the door. A strong, maternal knock followed, and they all took a deep breath. He gently opened the door, with no time before he was tackle hugged by a strong force. "STUART!" He looked down to see Max, hugging tightly at his waist. "MAX!" He greeted back, picking him up with ease and swinging him back and fourth. "So what am I Stu? Chop liver?" His mom laughed, stepping inside and closing the door behind her. "Aw, Mrs. Tusspot, I'll hug you!" Noodle laughed, approaching his mom. "Ah! You see stuart, you should be more like Noodle." She joked, pulling her into the greatest bear hug a mom could ever give. He rolled his eyes, smiling like a goofy idiot, gently setting Max back down and watching Russel approach the group as well. He took a second to get a good look at Max while they were busy with excited greetings. He was about to 2ds chest in height, so that makes him a bit shorter than Murdoc. He had fluffy amazingly curly hair that was dyed a dark blue and various piercings littered around his ears, and braces. He was scrawny and a little geeky looking, but adorable nonetheless. He wore a baggy black shirt with skinny jeans and high-tops with graffiti print. His nails were painted red and black, with rings of various kinds on his fingers. Even though he was adopted, he seemed to be a spitting image of 2d. "Y-your eyes! They're real!" He gasped in a fanboyish manner. "Max! Don't be rude to your brother." Mrs. Tusspot scolded. "Aw, no he's alright mum!" 2d waved off, smiling at his curiosity. "So, you're the famous Max who I heard has a birthday tomorrow?" Russel asked, leaning down to his height. Max nodded happily, a little shyly even. "Y-you're Russel right?" He asked feebly. He nodded gently, sensing his shy nature. "Yes! I play the drums too, I think you're awesome!" He admitted, giving him a hug. Russel seemed a little stunned at first, but smiled and hugged back. "You rock on little buddy, drums are the best instrument by far!" Russel nodded. "Uh debatable! Have you ever heard the guitar before?" Noodle cut in, giving Russel a playful glare. "Oh definitely, especially the bass." 2d turned and smiled to see Murdoc now standing by Noodle. Max's eyes lit up as he turned to the slightly taller man in front of him. "Murdoc!" He smiled excitedly, visibly trying to contain his excitement. "Yes, the man who broke your brother." Mrs. Tusspot growled, eyeing him. "Ah, Mrs. Tusspot, always a pleasure to have near death experiences from you." He joked, giving her a firm hand shake. She loosened up and laughed, pulling him into a hug. "Cmere you maniac." She sighed. Murdoc quietly sighed in relief hugging her back, just glad his little comment didn't get him mauled. 2d smiled to himself, seeing how well everyone was getting along. They broke their hug as Murdoc stepped over to 2d. Max was grinning wildly as he rambled to Noodle about a favourite video game of theirs while Russel and Mrs. Tusspot discussed their interior design choices. "See, I told ya everything is gonna be just fine." 2d smiled, resisting the urge to kiss him on the cheek. Murdoc nodded, really wishing that he would so his nerves would calm down. "Oh I remember when you all were just in highschool." Mrs. Tusspot exclaimed with an affectionate sigh. "You boys were so gay." She pointed out, motioning to 2d and Murdoc. "M-mom! We were not!" 2d denied, putting his hands up. "Were too! I remember at lunch you would sit in each others laps and mess with each others hair and-" "THAnk you Noodle!" Murdoc cut off, covering his face in embarrassment. Max however was very eager for her to go on. He tugged at Noodles sleeve. "No no, pleeaase continue." He grinned, taking a seat on the couch. Noodle excitedly took a seat next to him. "Oh boy I could tell you STORIES!" She began. "Mum!" 2d begged. "Hey, not my fault you two made out on stage." "YOU WHAT?!" Max asked. "Oh yes, that story! We were playing...Hmm...what song was it?" Noodle asked. "Feel good inc!" Russel answered. "Ah yes! We were playing feel good inc for a throwback, ya know? When Murdoc just walked over to him and asked for a kiss but got a lot more...on national television!" She giggled. Max stared in astonishment. 2d covered his face and groaned. "I'm getting a drink, would you like anything." He sighed, turning to their guests. "Can I get a soda mom? Pleease?" Max asked sweetly. "Well I don't know...It's kind of late and-" "Aww come on mommm!" 2d joined in, making her sigh in defeat. "Alright alright. fine, JUST ONE." She clarified. 2d nodded as everyone else politely declined. He began heading off to the kitchen. "So, are you guys...like..." Max began as Murdoc took a seat. "Dating?" Murdoc finished, putting his feet on the coffee table. Max nodded shyly, running his tongue across his braces. "Well, if he'd ever admit he's gay we would be!" Noodle cut in again, making the room burst out laughing. "Heyyy, no fair!" Murdoc whined, knowing he couldn't survive for a moment without Stu. "Keep it down will ya! Dents is just in the other room you know..." Murdoc sighed, running a hand through his hair. "You guys really call him 2d?" Max asked. They all nodded in unison. "You may not young man, he's your brother not some pop icon." Mrs. Tusspot clarified. Max crossed his arms. "Dangit." He mumbled, leaning back. Noodle chuckled as the boy himself walked into the room with three sodas. He handed one to Max and took a seat next to Murdoc. "I knew you were too shy to ask for one so I got you one anyways." He smiled, kissing him on the cheek. Murdoc smiled gratefully, gently taking the soda from his hand. "Thank you lo- er- Stuart." He corrected. Everyone exchanged knowing glances as Max opened his soda. "So I'll take that as a yes then." He nodded, taking a swig of his soda. "Yes to what?" 2d asked, clearly missing a puzzle piece. "NOthing Dents!" Murdoc smiled nervously, glaring everyone else in the room down who just smiled innocently at him. This is going to be a long few days.
