"HANDS UP WHERE I CAN SEE THEM!" All of the band members looked at each other absolutely mortified. They're names were clear, why was this happening five years later? "Wait no, please!-" 2d began, beginning to shake at the sites of them drawing their guns. "They aren't guilty!" Murdoc agreed, trying to step closer to 2d without them noticing. "Don't move or I'll shoot!" They all stood completely still before 2d turned to Murdoc. Don't do it. He silently pleaded. Murdoc returned his look before turning back. No! He felt the air leave his body as he heard him take a defeating step forward. "MUDZ NO!" The sounds of gunshots echoed through the air, and the only sight left was his beloved one crumbling under the city lights. " Murdoc! " He yelped, jumping from his position and over to the lifeless body. He felt bullets pierce through his own skin as the shouts from Noodle and Russel could be heard behind them.
Murdoc...2d flung himself off his pillow, breathing heavily and shaking like a mad man. He tried to calm himself, and even his breathing before he felt burning hot tears forming at the edges of his eyes. Another nightmare...He threw his covers off of himself and rubbed his eyes tiredly. The bloody hell was that brain? What time even was it? He turned to his alarm clock, waiting for his eyes to adjust to the harsh light. 2:41. He sighed and swung his feet over the side of the bed, looking down at his legs. He was still wearing jeans, and no shirt. He stood slowly, unsure of what it is he was aiming to do. Maybe...get something to drink? Yea, that'll do. He decided to get a shirt on just in case, and started slowly making his way down the stairs. He tried his best not to wake anyone else as he walked into the kitchen, rubbing his neck. He opened their fridge and examined the contents. It was surprisingly full, so Murdoc must've actually gone shopping for once. He grabbed some orange juice and walked over to the cupboards. "D?" 2d turned slightly and saw Russel out of the corner of his eye. "Hey Russ." He mumbled, his voice barely even audible. "Why are you in the dark pouring orange juice at 2 in the morning?" Russ asked, flicking on their light switch and walking over to the kitchen table to take a seat. "Nightmare. Needed some excuse to get out of bed." He admitted, capping the bottle and gently setting it back in the fridge. He took a sip before jumping up on the counter. "What about you?" He inquired, also curious as to why Russ was up this late. "I was playing video games with Noodle before she fell asleep...poor angel, she really needs to get a better sleeping routine." He chuckled lightly. 2d nodded agreeing. "I'll say, she doesn't want these horrible bags under her eyes like Mudz and I." 2d commented, staring down into his glass of orange juice tiredly. Russel just nodded as they sat in silence for a little bit longer. "What was your nightmare about?" Russel asked cautiously. 2d sighed. "The incident..." He answered, taking another sip out of his cup. "Ah, I see. Same one?" 2d just nodded. Russ always had that fatherly vibe for 2d, so he was grateful for him at times like 2 in the morning. "Well, what do you wanna do? Not like we're going to sleep anytime soon." Russel pointed out. 2d nodded, finishing his glass and setting it in the sink beside him. "I dunno, what's there to do at 2 in the morning?" 2d chirped, jumping off the counter. "We could mess with some auto tune and shit in the recording booth." Russ smirked. They always got a good laugh when they did dumb stuff with their audio. 2d smiled and nodded. "Sounds great." "Why don't you invite your boyfriend to come down with us?" Russ teased as they walked over to their studio. "Ey, I thought I told ya! He's not my boyfriend..." 2d sighed. "Oh please D, don't try to pull that with me. You guys were the same way in high school, when are you just gonna admit it!" Russ shook his head. "Cause I'm scared..." 2d admitted, entering the recording booth. "Scared of what? Rejection?" Russel asked. Damn, he's good at getting to the point. "I suppose so." He shrugged, sitting in his designated chair, decked out with band stickers and posters. "You white people are whack. Anyway, let's try and make a song!" Russel suggested. 2d cocked an eyebrow at him. "Like...a one day song challenge?" He asked. Russel nodded. "It'll be fun! We can just use technology since ya know, no other band members are here." He shrugged. 2d nodded and began turning everything on. He always enjoyed these little challenges. He couldn't help but thinking of high school since he brought it up. He was now 22 but he couldn't help himself from missing the teenage days. Even if they would never admit it, they all wished they could go back to high school. Murdoc had been to trial, and found as innocent, but 2d couldn't help but be scared of the possibility they'd all be evicted one day. After all, he didn't know if Murdoc lied or not to keep them out of trouble. They had all grown so much, 2d almost couldn't believe it. He was pretty used to his short hair, and actually kept it in that style with a few extra piercings and tattoos. Noodles hair was constantly being dyed and re-dyed, so you never knew with her. Her hair at that moment was black with blue streaks, and she of course pulled it off phenomenally. Russel had adapted more of a street style than he ever had, and ended up getting a few piercings himself. Murdoc had finally gotten all of his surgeries, and he was absolutely thrilled. He walked around the house shirtless half the time since he "Didn't pay seven grand to have a shirt on." He and 2d had matching lip piercings now, and they had competitions to see who could squirt water out of theirs the furthest. Gross, they know, but hey that's how they roll. Ever since the day they fled on the train, they did grow closer but never admitted anything to each other. Hell, they even checked out birds together sometimes, but they'd never admit that it bothered them both. Why hadn't they grown closer? Was it something 2d was doing? He scruffed up his mass of messy hair on the top of his head and sighed. 5 years was definitely long enough to have a gay awakening, right? He was snapped from his daydream as he heard his phone ring. Had he been sleeping with it in his pocket? He pulled it out and answered it. "'ello?" He asked. "Stuart, honey, this is your mom." 2d could've dropped his phone right then and there. "M-mum? Why are you calling so early?" He asked. "Because, we've finally got enough money gathered to come and see you all!" His eyes widened in surprise. "Really?! You mean it?!" He asked excitedly. "Yes really! Your new baby brother is so excited to see you!" 2d had to stop himself from going into fits of giggling. His brother was now 12, and he'd never met 2d before. I mean, he'd seen him on TV of course, but he knew pretty much nothing about him. He was adopted a year after they'd staged their run away, and 2d hadn't even seen him before. "When are you all coming?" He asked. "In a week!" She answered. He was so giddy as he smiled to himself. "I'll be sure to let everyone know and prepare the guest bedrooms then!" He nodded. "Wait- why are you up this early?" His mom asked in a very stern tone. He smiled awkwardly though of course she couldn't see. "Uhhh, no reason, love you mum!" He spat. "Don't you hang up this phone Stuart Tusspot!" Too late. He laughed as he set his phone down. "What was that about?" Russel asked. "My mum and brother are coming to visit in a week!" He explained, smiling widely. "What? Man that's so epic! We'll have to make sure Mudz is on his best behavior then." He giggled. 2d nodded. He couldn't even wait a week.
