I try to impress you

Just to make you proud

I don't know why I try

I should stop

Stop trying so hard

Should just start doing it for me

Not you

It's a waste of time

Do you even see me

See me trying

Trying to make you proud

Proud of me

I try to prove all these haters wrong

But you must one of them 

One of the haters

But why

You're supposed to be my mom 

My mom that I look up to

But I guess that's changed

I guess I was wrong

Wrong about you

I guess you're not who I thought you were 

You aren't my leader
