Brenna nearly stumbled over when she saw herself in the mirror the next morning. Her face was black and blue, and her eyes carried bags. But her head was the worst. It continuously pounded whenever she moved. And her body aches all over, epsecially her sides.
She quietly went over to her mothers room and stole her makeup bag. She covered her bruises with the makeup so that she attends school. She can't afford to miss school. She returned her mother's kit and was grateful that her parents didn't share the same room.
She tied her thigh-lenght hair in a low bun and made her way to prepare breakfast. She quickly ate after she had prepared breakfast. She finished two plates and was a bit guilty but didn't care because she was starving, no, she was famished.
She locked the house and started walking to school. She came across some college boys, who were lurking around Monty, the area where was staying, street They were drinking and having fun.
"Hey" A dark blonde haired guy called out. "Wanna have fun? I do know how to make girls like you have fun" He said, looking at his friends while making that remark.
His friends let out an obnoxious laugh, slapping their knees. They stopped at once when the previous guy raised his hands for silence.
"Its actually easy" he continued. "You wanna know why?" He asked no one in particular. Seconds later, he answered his own question. "Because you're a slut and they always find pleasure in everything" he yelled. "Even with animals" he added.
The other boys started laughing again, supporting their friends idiotic remarks. They tumbled over, knocking down their drinks in the process, but neither of them seemed to care.
She was mortified by the blonde haired guy's comment.
Brenna quicken her pace to get away from the boys and hope that they'd be gone before she gets to her house after school. Her eyes stung with unsheded tears. She silently chided herself for being weak, and rubbed her eyes.Half an hour later, she finally reached her school. She stood outside the gate and looked up to the 'WELCOME TO REDWICK HIGH' sign, written at the head of the schools entrance.
Just halfway through her journey to her first class, Daniel Brian pushed her to the lockers. He laughed at her when he saw tears.
He was always bullying her for no reason. Daniel Brian would start it out by just shoving and tripping her, but it intensifies when others cheers for him.
"Aww... little missy here has makeup on" he said to the crowd that was slowly forming. He traced her faced with his right fingertips, while he held her in place with his other hand.
"She's trying to impress someone then" Bianca, one of Ashley's minion called out. "Must be Devon Night so that she doesn't get killed by him" she added laughing.
"But what are we going to do? She won't even be looked at" Tracy, another minion of Ashley asked in feign terror. "Night won't spare a glance towards her like that" she said. "But we, of course, should help, shouldn't we?" Tracy added in a soft, melodic voice.
The students watched Tracy, as she made her way to Brenna and Daniel. Tracy told the students to stop being rude and chided them for their childish behaviour. She also glared at Daniel and told him to stop holding Brenna tightly, and ordered him to leave the poor girl alone.
Brenna was relieved when Tracy came to help her. She was immediately thankful to her. Her eyes welled up with tears because no one has ever stood up for her. And she was forever grateful.
Tracy stopped and scanned Brenna's face. She looked at her, from the top of her head, to her feet. She stopped when she saw that Brenna was a beauty. She fisted her hands and tried to hide her anger.
