"goodbye."
a simple word, pushed passed lips
in a whisper that was in such a tone
that suggested nothing but the end.
his words stung like razor blades
creating scars on his heart
but worse.
"no."
the other was numb
his words the same, his
whisper is cracking,
it couldn't end like this...
then the whole thing would just be another 'i told you so'.
"it is the way it must be."
the first replied.
his face is completely void of emotion.
how could it be like this?
when just the day before they were kissing and smiling.
how could it be?
and the weaker of the two
simply stares at the other, his heart being ripped apart
at its seams every second their gazes linger on the other.
"you can't do this..."
the second says, his voice choked by a violent sob.
"i can, and i am."
the first says.
he stares at the other for a moment, and walks out the door.
there is this sort of finality.
he was gone.
and after the door slams,
the one that was left behind,
is left with the eerie silence of the empty flat.
and he swears,
he swears that he could hear his heart shattering.
he fell to the floor,
as his world crumbled down around him.
