This short bit of writing was a product of my aversion to editing the novel I finished all the way back in August. I was satisfied with a world I created and the people I populated it with. But during the course of writing the entire thing my pantser soul and uncooperative characters kept nudging me into the different direction which in the end resulted in more editing than the previous outline would suggest.
So what I did? I wrote this novelette as a side-prequel (if such a concept exists for a work that hasn't seen the light of day yet). I hope it gives you a smidgen of the outside world since the main novel is stuck in the city, for now.
And for the future, the main novel of this series wills start it's run next month ... or next year. Depending on the delicate currents of life and moods of my laziness.
