Hayley's POV

I woke up to the sound of a school bus. I looked out my window and saw it in front of the neighbors house. Two boys and one girl walked out the door and stepped onto the bus.

I tried to fall back asleep but I couldn't. I got up and picked out and outfit. I put on some black leggings, and olive green crewneck, black socks, and white sneakers. I curled my hair and put it in a half ponytail. I did my makeup and packed my school bag. I grabbed my phone and looked at the time. 7 am. I went down stairs and grabbed a granola bar.

"I'm gonna go check out the library." I told my parents and walked out the door. When I arrived at the library, I pulled out my computer and did my school work. I got done early because I started early. It was about 1 pm and I began to walk home. When I got there I grabbed some lunch and plopped down in front of the tv. I watched two episodes of How I Met Your Mother. After that, I looked at the clock. 2:30 PM. I sat on the porch and began to scroll through Instagram.

Then I heard the school bus. I looked up and saw the family next door walking up to their house. They looked like they had an awful day. I noticed that the two boys were twins. They were all so upset. I wonder what happened at their school?

Then an idea popped in my head. I ran into the house. I grabbed a note book and a sharpie. Then I ran into my room and looked out my window. The boy was in his room. I began to scribble on the note pad and then waited hoping that he might look out his window. And he did. I held up the sign.

U ok?

He held up his finger like he was telling me to wait and walked away from the window. He came back with a notepad and pen and began to write.

Eh

I wrote:

What happened?

He wrote:

Bullying

I gave him a sympathetic look and he smiled at me. Then someone walked in his room. His twin. They looked like they were talking. Then both of the boys looked out the window and waved at me. I laughed and waved back. Then he held up a sign.

Gtg

I waved goodbye and then walked back downstairs.

I've been living in Jersey for about 2 weeks now. Still have no friends. I talk to the boy out the window with signs sometimes. I still don't know his name. But I did notice that the school bus doesn't come by anymore. And when their sister drives to school, they don't get in the car with her. Anyways, I woke up this morning, got ready like usual, and walked to the library.

I began working in as essay that I really wanted to get done. I heard someone come in but I was so focused I didn't look up. Then I noticed someone sit next to me. I looked to see who it was.

It was the boy from the window. He pulled a computer out of his bag and opened it. Then he turned to me and smiled.

"Hey." He whispered with a big smile on his face.

"Hey! What are you doing here? I thought you have school." I asked.

"Oh. Me and my brother switched to online school. High school kind of sucked ass." He said and we both chuckled.

"Yea..." I said. Then I continued to write my essay and he started on his school work. It looked like he was doing a reading lesson. He seemed frustrated. Like he was having trouble. Then, I finally finished my essay. We worked for about another hour.

"Hey. You wanna get out of here?" He leaned over to me and whispered. I picked up my phone and looked at the time. 1 PM. I could finish my other school work later.

"Yea. Let's get lunch." I whispered. We stood up and put our stuff in ours bags. Then we walked out the doors of the library.

"There's a Chick-Fil-A nearby. You wanna walk there?" He asked.

"Sure!" I replied. "So where's your twin?"

"Oh. He has a cold. That's what he said. I think he's just to lazy to get out of bed." He said with an eye roll. I laughed. "So how about you? Do you have any siblings?" He asked.

"No. Just me and my parents. We move around a lot because of their job." It was nice to talk to him in person in stead of over a note pad. It was nice to even have someone to talk to.

"So why were you getting picked on? I'm just curious. You and your brother seem like the type of guys who would have a lot of friends, ya know, like hot girlfriends." I asked. He was really cute. He looked like he works out. He's definitely athletic. He doesn't seem like the type of guy who would get bullied.

He chuckled. "Umm... well. Have you ever heard of the app Vine?" I nodded. "Me and my bro make vines and everyone thought that was stupid. Me and him are athletic, but we also really like art. Apparently that means big bullies can pick on us."

"Well that's stupid!" I said. He seems like a really good guy. Him and his brother. Just because they are artsy doesn't mean they should get picked on.

"So why do you do online?" He asked.

"Well. I used to go to around 3 schools a year because of my parents job. I was always making friends and losing them a month later. I've never actually had a good friend for more than 2 months. I couldn't keep losing people. So I started online school instead."

"Well that sucks. I'm so sorry." He said with a sympathetic look.

"Eh. It's whatever. I'll just wait until I graduate. Then maybe I'll let myself make some friends." I said, chuckling. He laughed to. We made it to the restaurant. I ordered and 8 piece chicken nugget and a small fry and drink. He ordered a crispy chicken sandwich, small fry, and drink. I pulled money out of my wallet but he stopped me.

"Come on." I said annoyed.

"Let me pay!" He said. He paid for my food. I felt bad.

"Can I have a name for your order?" The lady at the counter asked.

"Grayson."
