cameron walked through the busy halls of her small town new jersey high school. she waved to the the few people she talked to in her classes, she only really has one close friend but he's a senior and only has a few classes at the school. they still kept in touch a lot and they had plans to hang out this weekend.

as she walked down the hall to her class she saw many posters crowding the walls.

halloween dance show $5! come support the team!

"maybe i'll go to that." she thought to herself.

-

"mom! i'm home!" cameron calls as she closes the front door to her house.
"hey cam! i have a meeting soon, so you have the house to yourself for a while. i won't be back till ten." her mom calls from her room. "okay." cameron yells back in response, sitting on her moms bed.
her mom walks out of the bathroom that was connected to her bedroom, "oh, i have to leave soon. i'll leave you money so you can order food and i really don't mind if you invite someone over just don't trash the place, even though i doubt you would do that" cameron's mom laughs.

-

its been 4 hours since school ended and cameron is bored with nothing better to do than scroll through the same 5 apps on her phone.  its 6:00 when she decides on going for a walk through the forest across from her house. sure its not the best idea when the suns down but she lives in a safe area so she can only hope for the best.

"okay, i locked the door, i have my house keys and my phone. i'm good." she tells herself as she walks out the door.

-

she feels like shes being watched. she figures that if anything happens theres probably other people walking around so if she screams loud enough someone will hear her. calling her mom wouldn't do much, shes in the city for her work meeting, and those tend to be lengthy

"i really need to stop over thinking these things." cameron whispers to herself as the leaves crunch under her feet.
