As Joel and Christine climbed down his horse and they notice right away that something wasn't pleasing to Christine's family. "Christine, come here please." Said her mother, Phyllis. "Please." She went over to her mother and brother Aaron while her father Luke spoke with Joel. "What made you bring my daughter home?" "I was showing her some hospitality, sir." He scoffed. "Hospitality?" From a Roman soldier who worships false God?" Joel slapped Luke which caused Christine and Phyllis to gasp. "HOW DARE YOU INSULT THE GODS!" He yelled. "THEY ARE NOT REAL! ONLY THE LORD, FATHER GOD IS!" Joel was about to strike him again but Christine screamed. "So... You and your family believe in THAT God whose Son healed the sick? Humph. I should have known from the moment I saw the garments you wear." He glared at Luke, then back at Phyllis and Aaron. "I won't waste my time with you. As Mars is my witness.' He climbed back on his horse and rode away. 'Christine, why on Earth did you asked for that soldier's help?" Asked Aaron. 'He was insistent. How could I say no?" "YOU SHOULD HAVE!" He yelled. "Aaron.' Phyllis calmed Aaron down. 'I swear, that's what happened." 'Christine, DON'T associate with that Roman. He believes in the false Gods who're demons in disguised. Sent from Satan to destroy God's existence." 'Yes, father.' As Luke went went inside to treat his wounded face, Christine started to wonder why Joel had been crossed with her family and not with her. ***Joel headed to his brother Paulous home, where he was greeted by his wife and servants. "Brother. It is good to see you." "Likewise. You as well, Lilith." Lilith smiled as she winked at Joel and went back to her seat cushion. She always wanted to be with him over Paulous. As Paulous and Joel went to his garden to talk, Joel started thinking of Christine again. "What is the matter, brother?" He asked. "I met a girl today. Had a dark shade of that golden hair Venus had. She was gathering water from a well and I offer to take her home. She lives with people who worship the God with the Son who was crucified." "Blast!" "I know. The head of the house insulted the Gods also." "Joel, how could you help a girl who's associated with such people?' "Paulous, I felt something when I was with that girl." "Oh, Joel. You and your quest for true love." "Paulous, this girl wasn't like the other girls I've met. She's different." Paulous rolled his eyes. 'Brother, don't waste your time with a girl like that. Judea has many other ladies for you to chase after." Joel shook his head. "No." Paulous scoffed at him. 'What do you ponder of at this precise moment, brother?" He asked curiously. "I have an idea. But I need your help." Whatever Joel had on his mind definitely involve his brother, who was like Joel a very handsome homme, who was revered by many, and feared by others. ***Christine thought about Joel that night. But at the same time felt saddened that he denounced the Lord Jehovah. She prayed to the Lord as she was about to go to sleep. "Dear Lord Father God, forgive my father for his actions and the actions made by that soldier I met as well. Also forgive me of the thoughts and feelings I have for that same soldier. In the name of your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Amen."Christine made the sign of the cross and went to sleep. Completely unaware of what she would face tomorrow.
