Chanyeol had been a nice change in your life. You liked having him around. Lily was great and all, but sometimes you could only take so much of her. Chanyeol was different, you felt like you could never get tired of him. He always seemed so new and full of life.

After the night at the drive-in, you spent almost all the free time you had with him. To the point that Lily kept asking you if you were dating. You weren't, but you could see why she'd think that.

You had grown close to Chanyeol as friends. He was sweet and flirty, but you couldn't do any more past that.

In many ways you were still in love. Even if you said you hated him, your heart still burned whenever he crossed your mind.

You enjoyed your time with Chanyeol. He was a good distraction from everything wrong with your life. He'd take you out on more dates and text you often, but it never got more personal than that. At the beginning, he asked a lot about your past. You knew he was just trying to get to know you but you didn't want to talk about it.

After countless failed attempts to get through to you, he eventually stopped trying. Giving up completely, taking his time with you to talk about the present rather than the past.

Things with Chanyeol were easy. Everything just seemed to fall into place when you were with him.

You had spent the day out with Chanyeol, first going to his favorite bookstore, then he had taken you out for dinner before he brought you back to his house to watch a movie.

You were cuddled into him on the couch, his arm resting over your shoulder, your legs placed over his. You had no clue what the movie even was, Chanyeol had picked it claiming it was good. It didn't matter anyway, you spent the duration of the film staring at Chanyeol.

The way his jaw clenched when there was an intense action scene to the way the corner of his lips curled when the love interests were together. You loved finding these intricacies in him and you giggled to yourself imagining what he must be thinking about.

"What are you laughing about?" Chanyeol looked straight into your eyes, one brow raised.

"Oh, nothing. Forget about it." You waved a hand in his direction before turning back to the television, pretending to pay attention to what was happening on screen.

"Oh, no, not this time."

"I don't know what you mean." You didn't look to him, pretending to be clueless to what he was talking about.

His hand moved down to your waist, sticking his fingers in your side. "Lies." He squinted his eyes, bringing his face close to yours.

You knew what he was about to do. "You wouldn't," you scowled.

"I would," he responded, keeping the same tone as you.

You squirmed under him to get away from his impending tickle. He curled his fingers around your shirt, causing you to squeal out in laughter. "Chanyeol, please. You know I'm ticklish."

He removed his hand from around you and set it on his lap. You gave him a fake dirty look while snuggling in closer to him. Feeling you, he wrapped his arm back over your shoulders, hand holding on to your arm.

"Exactly why I do it," he smiled, leaning in closer to your face and kissing you on the cheek. It had become a common occurrence. Friendly kisses here and there. Never like the one on the swing set, though.

"One of these days, I'll get you back."

He raised his eyebrows and made a smug face. "Uh-huh, I like to see that day."
