Their peaceful time was ruined when they heard the marching steps towards their area. Namjoon knew too well; it's his parents.
His once relaxed posture stiffed upright when he heard a distinct voice calling out for him, "Namjoon!" He's scared. He felt a hand on top of his cold skin, a deep reassurance to his anxiety coursing through his veins.
"It's okay. You're not alone." He heard her, whispering assurances, knowing full well half of them is not true. This is reality, not some game where you can change your choices.
They stay at the spot for a while , with a one sided hug from Soo, as the steps got louder.
"Namjoon!" His mom found his existence, by the translucent leaves hollowing his slouched figure. His father trailed behind her, meet with a sight that reminds him of his young days where he hold his love of his life tightly.
"What are doing with this.." His mother stared up and down at Soo's figure with a disgusted look. "... thing?"
Namjoon stood up, hiding his shaky hands under his sweater, with the help of Soo lifting him for support, looked at his mother. All of my life, He thought; I didn't experience any emotions or feelings because I was raised with this moral; Study hard, get a job, get married and die.
What's the point of life if all you do is the same viscous cycle? An unwritten law.
He took a deep inhale, along with unnoticed gesture of thumbs up by Soo, he said his thoughts out after a deep exhale.
