2. New life

"Bella!" I'm awoken by the sound of my name. I spring up in bed and notice Charlie standing in the doorway. I look at him with wide eyes as I realize it was a dream.

"Bella are you okay?" he asks coming to my side. I nod my head and then lie back down. He kisses my forehead and leaves closing the door behind him. I can see that it's coming close to morning so I decide to get changed and head out. Today I want to go past the Cullen's house; I just think it's best to remind myself they aren't here. As I head out for my car Charlie flings the front door open and stops me suddenly. He hands me a piece of paper and some money attached then closes the door back up. I read the paper and notice it says Grocery List. Ugh why does my dad always have to do this when I leave? I think getting in my truck and heading off. I park my car in the parking lot and start heading toward the store. It's quiet and not busy at all; which isn't a surprise since this store is so tiny! I walk in through the double doors and notice no one in sight.

"Hello?" I ask walking around trying to find...anyone. I am about to head out the doors and just go somewhere else when I hear the voice which either means peace or death.

"Bella...Bella... Bella..." I turn to see Laurent standing only a few feet away from me. I step back and hit a barrel full of apples. Laurent isn't the type of vampire who would kill me...but then again I knew he was afraid of Edward...and Edwards not here...

"I heard you were coming to the store today?" his eyes tilt and I look away. I hate it when vampires do that, it's never right. I don't say a word but then remembering how I should do dangerous things to hear Edward, I respond back.

"I'm here aren't I..." Laurent quickly darts up to me and grabs me by the waist.

"Edwards gone is he not?" I have to think about what to say, but soon I hear Edward's voice and he tells me to lie.

"No he's here...just not...w-with me... n-now..." I stutter since I am a bad liar.

"Really; because last time I saw Edward he was heading far north...away from you." his voice scares me now and so I try to get out of his grip.

"You're very feisty...I'm sure Edward loved that about you..." Laurent hisses. I swallow loudly and wish he would stop talking about Edward.

"Just don't talk about him okay!" I demand. Laurent grins and then kicks me in the shin. I gasp andhe lets me go so I fall to the ground. He takes a step back and then speaks.

"Shh dont be afriad. I'm doing this out of my own act of kindness; Victoria plans on killing you slowly, where as I'll make it quick. I promise." I breathe heavy and watch as Laurent comes down to my level and grabs my neck. I try to get free but his grip is chocking me. How is this any less slow and painful? I think to myself. With one big movement his teeth sink into my neck and the venom spreads with-in me. I scream out in agonizing pain and kick to be free. Once he removes his teeth I can see all the blood which has formed on them. My head gets dizzy fast and everything goes blurry. With one big thud, I fall onto the floor....

Waking up in Jacob's arms is not something which usually happens. He's running and I don't know where to, but he seems like he's trying to hurry.

"Ja-cob..." I moan out through my teeth. He looks down at me quickly and then in front again. Soon he gets to his house and rushes in through the door. Sitting at the kitchen table is Billy, Leah and Seth.

"Hey Jake what ya' doing?" Seth asks in his un-worried voice. Jacob shakes his head and then brings me into his room. With a gentle touch he places me on his bed.

"Jacob w-what's going...on." I ask confused, dizzy and still hurting. He turns on his heel without telling me anything and leaves. When he comes back Leah, Seth and Billy are all with him. Billy's eyes are worried and so are Jacobs but when I look at Leah and Seth they act confused. I gasp at the pain which has just struck me cold. I lie shocked and soon it hits me; the anguish and suffering all at once. I scream out and clasp the bite on my neck with my hands. I hear Billy mumble something to Leah and she runs out of the room coming back with a small vial shot. She hands it to Jacob and he places the needle into my arm. I scream and scream until finally the pain starts to just disappear. I close my eyes and fall into a soundly sleep...

I wake up and notice Jacob sitting on the rim.

"Jake." I hiss out weirdly. I cover my mouth and then look back up at his expression. He looks shocked and most definitely irate with something. I can smell a lot of things in this house but what stands out the most is the reek of dog. Now I know why the Cullen's always hated having Jacob over; he smells horrible.

"Bells...how ya' feelin'..." his voice is back now as If he's gotten over the fact that I have been turned into a vampire; or in better terms a bloodsucker. I sit up and crawl out of the covers, I speed out of the house and over to the forest then quickly back to Jacob. I can run extremely fast now! I think to myself.

"Great!" I tell him sitting back down on the bed. He rolls his eyes and then stands up.

"I can't believe this is the new you Bella..." I smile and then stand up as well.

"You're not going to leave me right?" I hesitate a little; but then wonder why since it's not weird to ask. His chuckles once and then hugs me.

"I wouldn't leave you no matter what you are." he grips me tightly; but I hug him tighter back. I'm also strong! I think grinning. Once we let each other's grips go, I get a weird burning sensation in my throat. I clasp my hands over it but nothing helps.
