From a devil pony named Chico to a beautiful barrel horse named Becca, Paiton was never though of as good enough. Until she won the state title. Chico was a typical Pony. Throwing bucks and rearing up; never wanting to listen. She cried at the county fair when she was 10 because he reared on her going in the gate. Then, family friends of theirs, Holly and Raegan, put Becca up for sale so Raegan (15 years old) could have more time for volleyball. No one thought Paiton could ride this horse, but then she made it to districts. Her district was the hardest of all in the state. She placed 4th at districts in pole bending and got the last spot to go to states. She traveled 4 hours to Harrisburg that October to compete in the PA State Horse Show. No one expected anything of her. But then she went out for her only run and ran a time of 23.813 seconds. The time to beat. She won. Then things went down...
