Shadows danced in the moonlight as I stood upon a cliff overlooking a small village. My long, wavy knee length hair turned back and forth from sapphire blue to white as I fidgeting with my ring. I remembered the night I got it, the night everything changed for me.
-
I was sitting alone in a cemetery, looking at my aunt's grave. I was so close to her and then she died. It was a freak accident, but she left me a ring. She had always said that the ring was special. Little did I know, that the piece of jewelry would make me someone completely different once she came.

As I sat in front of the grave, the wind blew rustling my hair and chilling me in my light jacket. Deciding that it was late enough, I picked up my bag and started to head home. But stopped dead in my tracks when a saw an enormous black wolf sitting off in the distance. It turned it's head towards me and I saw that it's eyes were red. It was no normal wolf.

It started moving towards me and I turned around and ran down the line of gravestones as I backtracked my way through the cemetery. I reached an old circle of stones that I had always been curious as to why they were they. But tonight the moonlight seemed to hit them in a special way, making them glow.

The wolf was gaining on me, so I stepped inside the glowing circle of stones, planning on running out the other end.

But the wolf howled in pain when it tried to cross into the circle so I changed my mind and decided to stay there till it left.

I sat down cross legged on the grass and pulled out my phone. When the ring on my finger touched the moonlight it too started to glow.

"What the hell!" I screamed as I saw a pale white figure begin to emerge from the center of the circle. A large pair of white feathered wings were folded against her back. She smiled down at me before hearing the wolf howling just beyond the circle.

"Are you ready to form a pact?" The girl asked in a loud, almost booming voice. I just sat there staring at her with wide eyes as she floated above the ground in front of me.

"W-What?" I asked with curiosity, fear and confusion mixed in. The girl gave me a blank stare as she cleared her throat

"My name is Ciela," She started before unfolding her wings "I am an Angelic Spirit. I give powers to people who make a pact with me."

My face lit up after that sentence. I have always dreamed of having magical powers and this seemed like a dream come true. I opened my mouth to respond, but Ciela put her finger up to hush me.

"Now these powers aren't for free. In exchange for them and basic immortality you must fight demons and their minions," she said while pointing to the giant black wolf that was still howling from beyond the glowing circle. "Like that hellhound" she added. I sat there staring at where she was pointing.

"So I have to kill those things?" I asked before i realized that she mentioned immortality and then perked up again "but they still couldn't kill me? Cause I'd be immortal?" I asked her. I was beginning to think that maybe I should accept her deal and make a pact, but then Ciela started chuckling at me and I felt dumb.

"No they can still kill you I'm afraid," Ciela said in between her laughter. I immediately felt fear build up in my once again as I realized I would be killed either with or without magic. Ciela finally stopped her laughing and then straightened up and folding her wings once again.

"You just can't die from old age or normal human attacks," Ciela explained to me. I still thought it was a good deal. I mean I was thinking how hard could it be to fight those things? Especially with magical powers, right?

But boy was I wrong about that!
