日光 sunshine;

Juvia

I ran to the rooftop as the rain poured heavily to the beat of my heart. Gray-sama! I was going to see him again! This time, the rain wasn't because of me.

I bolted up the stairs, my hand gliding up the railing as I ran. I held a hand to my heart as I stepped out into the dark, cold, rainy world. The chillness nipped my skin and I could see my icy breath.

But there was a light in front of me. It was so beautiful, so blinding. So... warm.

Gray Fullbuster.

"G-Gray-sama!" I cried out, my voice breathless with happiness.

He turned and saw me, eyes narrowing. "Juvia," was all he said. Just my name. Yet, it felt so important.

"Finally!" I squealed. "We're finally reunited!"

I smiled brightly and took a step towards him. But he moved back as well. I frowned and stepped closer to him but he kept moving back. He didn't look too happy either.

"Gray-sama? What's wrong?" I asked, my voice laced with concern.

"Juvia," he started. "This isn't right. What are you doing?"

"W-what do you mean it isn't right? What isn't right?" I asked.

"Go back to Fairy Tail this instant!" he demanded. "The Juvia I know wouldn't hurt anyone like this out of her own will," he spat, clenching his fist. "The Juvia I know would stay loyal to her friends no matter what! She would look for a solution, not a short-"

"Gray," I cut in, "this is my choice," I began calmly. "If you have a problem with it, you can just leave. I don't want to hurt you, because... because I lo-"

This time he cut me off: "I know what you're going to say," he frowned. "And I don't care. You're not Juvia anymore so I won't feel bad when I attack you."

You are my sunshine.

"Ice-Make: Lance!" He shouted as he spread his arms out, intersecting them in a criss-cross. Ice spears shot out of his hands and impaled me, but I protected myself with Water Body.

My only sunshine.

"H-haven't I told you before?" I stuttered, shocked at what he said before. "My entire body is made out of water. None of your attacks can effect me."

You make me happy.

He tensed up. "Ice Make: Battle Axe!" A huge axe swung through the air, slicing my body in half. It was completely ineffective.

When skies are Gray.

"G-Gray," I cried. "Please stop..." I sobbed as he kept attacking me with attacks that remained useless on me.

You never know, dear.

He has his Devil Slayer Magic, I thought. Why won't he use it?

"Ice Make: Canon!" He roared, sending a heavy impact my way. I dodged it just in time.

How much I love you.

"Ice Make: Crescent Blades!" He yelled, panting heavily from using up too much magic power. Once again, I wasn't affected. Yet, my heart hurt and I sobbed bitterly as the rain pounded heavily. Gray was clutching his side, all beaten up as I stood with only emotional pain.

"Y-you... You brought the rain back..." I sobbed, glancing at a solemn-looking Gray.

Please don't take my sunshine away.

"Did I?" he winced as he managed to regain some strength. He took a deep breath. "Ice Make Unlimited: One Sided Chaotic Dance!"

I wailed as I saw the ice swords circle around me and then shoot at me. I cried for him. Only him. "Gray-sama! Please... please stop! Y-you're hurting! Don't waste your magical power like this!"

He stood up shakily. "I... I'm fine, Juvia."

"Gray-sama! Please go heal yourself!" I begged.

"O-one more..." he gasped and continued. "Will do the t-trick..."

"Gray-sama, what-"

"Ice Make: Seven Slice Dance!" he yelled as seven ice blades stuck out on his arms. He lunged at me and sliced through me, but my Water Body protected me again. Exhausted after using so much power, he fell to the ground and closed his eyes.

"Gray-sama!" I screamed, rushing over to him.

"Juvia..." he croaked. "I can't believe you..."

I wept miserably. "I-I'm sorry... I truly am..."

Gray frowned. "You changed, Juvia."

I looked down and reached for his hands, but he pulled them away. "Leave me... tell the others that you defeated me..."

I looked at him longingly and covered my face. "I... I just wanted to be with you!"

"Not anymore." he stated. "Because of this, not ever. Never again, Juvia."

His words stung. I felt like the world beneath me was breaking, creating a hole to suck me in. It was all my fault. I was immature. This happened because of me. Because of me we can never be friends again.

"P-please don't say that! Let's just..." I let out a choked sob, "Gray! Please!"

His eyes pierced through me. Oh, if looks could kill. "You killed Sting," he said in a low voice. "You killed our friend Sting Eucliffe."

I flinched and the whole memory came back like a tidal wave. "I can't deny that... I'm sorry..."

"No, you're not," he breathed out. "Juvia, leave me. Now."

"You're hurt!"

"Last time I checked, I can... I can take care of myself," he scoffed and clenched his jaw. "Now leave. Go. I won't die."

With a heavy heart, I stood up and turned around to walk away. I glanced back at him. He was collapsed on the ground, his hand to his chest. Soft breaths and wisps of ice.

I bit my lip to hold in tears and walked off the roof, hands balled into fists. I felt a surge of anger rush through me, awakening me.

I will find Avatar and kill all their members one by one.

For Gray-sama.
