After the boys left, I decided to head back into our room to take a nap. I fell asleep quickly, few thoughts filtering through my mind. For once it was a rather peaceful sleep. A few hours later I was shaken awake by Haruhi. She informed me that dinner was ready and that I should eat something since I missed breakfast. I agreed, ignoring the pounding pain from the back of my head. We made our way out into the kitchen. I stumbled every once in a while, blaming it on the fact I had just woken up. I stopped by the medicine cabinet and grabbed a bottle of ibuprofen, the action not going unnoticed by Haruhi. She raised an eyebrow but didn't question the action. I stumbled toward the sink and managed to down three of the four pills before my knees gave out. "Are you okay?" Haruhi called as she rushed over to help me up. "I'm fine, I'm fine," I assured, managing to pull myself up with her help, "I just feel dizzy. I probably need to eat and drink some water." Haruhi nodded, a worried look in her eyes. I took the remaining pill and sat at the table. Haruhi placed a plate with curry and rice in front of me along with a tall glass of water. I thanked my twin and began eating rather slowly. As I ate, I also drank the water, though it seemed much too tall for me to even make a dent in. Of course, Haru wouldn't let me leave the table until I had finished the glass, so I continued to drink it long after I had finished eating. Haruhi and I sat talking about seemingly nothing at all for the longest time, eventually ending up on the topic of the host club. "They seem rather fond of you," Haruhi mentioned solemnly. I laughed, "Me? They love you! So do the customers." She smiled at me, though I could tell it was forced. I sigh, my smile dropping, "I know you don't want me to leave but you know how I am. My immune system isn't--" She cut me off, "Don't talk like that! They're discovering new treatments every day for immuno-deficiencies and I'm sure there's at least one that, that..." She trailed off. "Treatments we cannot afford. Haru, you know that," I reminded. She looked down, tears forming on her cheeks. I smile an empty smile and embrace Haru tightly. I pulled away, a few small coughs preventing me from continuing. Eventually, a few small coughs became a coughing fit, a drop of blood or two slipping past my lips. Haruhi helped me sit up fully, feeling my forehead and announcing that I had a high fever. "We should get you to the hospital," Haruhi called as my coughing ceased. "No, no, I'm alright. I just need rest and antibiotics. That's all I'd get at the hospital anyway," I chimed, my voice weak from the coughing. She hesitated but eventually just helped me to our room, making sure I got into bed safely before running off to grab a cool rag and some antibiotics. I lay in bed quietly wondering if I had managed to catch something that would kill me. I bark out a bitter laugh. Haruhi would hate the way I'm thinking right now. She never was an optimist but when it came to me she was always reminding me to think positive. Haru eventually returns with what she set out for and I thanked her, doing the antibiotics and allowing her to place the rag on my forehead before falling into an unrestful sleep.

FanfictionYea, you've read a million fanfics about Haruhi having a twin sister, but this is my take on the same old topic :) Haruhi's sister, Chisa, had always been ill since her birth. She missed the first month or so of school and wasn't there for her dear...
