First Love

Chapter Two

New House and Home

"How much longer?" I wake up to Oliver asking.

"Ten minutes." My mom says.

I look out the window at mountains and unfamiliar houses pass by.

I pick up my coke and drink the last few sips.

I look out the window.

"We are in Stowe right now. You might go to school with some of the kids that live here." My mom comments.

"What is Stowe?" Sky asks.

"A town in Vermont."

"What town are we going to live in?" I ask her.

"Morristown." My mom answers.

I look back out the window as we pass a library and some houses, a church, a bike path. The more we drive the houses become lest frequent.

Oliver leans over me and looks at the GPS.

"2 minutes!" he says before I push him off of me.

Two minutes later we turn of the road and pass a red house with white trim.

The style here in Vermont is colorful houses with white trim.

The most popular color being red.

1) red

2) blue

3) yellow

4)green

5) other

My dad pulls up a driveway. In front of us is a dark blue house with white trim.

Our house.

Our new house.

My dad pushes a button which opens an empty garage.

He pulls in and parks the car.

"We're home!" My mom shouts cheerfully.

We're home.

Our new home.

I get Sky out of her carseat and we all climb out of the car.

It feels so freaking good to use my legs again. I start doing knee hugs and lunges to stretch.

Sky tries to imitate me.

I laugh at her. She is just so fucking adorable.

My mom takes out her camera and starts videoing us.

She is all about family videos.

Which makes me kinda of uneasy because they always remind me of the movie sinister which i watched with Megan and Alice.

"We should walk through the front door." Mom said.

We all march out of the garage and onto the front porch.

Then my dad put the key in to the lock and opened the door.

The door swing open and we walked inside.

We were standing in a small foyer painted a warm, pretty light yellow with a medium sized coat closet to out left.

We walked out of the foyer.

We were now in the main living area which included a open living, dining room and a kitchen.

The living room had a dark brown coach facing a large stone fireplace with a mantel. A small flat screen tv was on one side of the mantel.

The dining room had a dark brown table with eight chairs around it and a china cabinet in the corner.

The kitchen had granite counter tops and a island with four chairs around it in the center.

"Let's show you guys the bedrooms." My mom says and opens a door that was with three other doors in a entryway.

"This is your room Lilly."

The walls were my favorite shade of pink. There was two windows with a bed and two night stands on either side in the middle of the room against the wall.

I had a average sized closet which sadly wasn't a walk in like my old closet in Maryland was.

I had a dresser against the right hand side wall and a desk in the left hand side corner.

I loved it so far.

My mom opens a door on the right wall and walks us in. It was a bathroom.

It had one sink, a toilet, a tub that could also serve as a shower, and a small linen closet.

My mom opens another door which led into another bedroom.

"You and Sky share this bathroom. Both of your rooms are attached to it." Mom tells us.

Sky's room is painted a bright purple.

It has four windows, a small walk-in closet, a bed, a dresser and a rocking chair.

Sky loves rocking chairs.

Mom then shows us the laundry room. Then the Master bed and bath.

Oliver's room is in the basement the we have to walk down there.

There are only two rooms down here.

One being Oliver's bedroom and the other being a storage room.

Oliver's room was white. There wasn't any windows in the basement so my parents kelt the walls white to try to make the room lighter and feel bigger.

It was set up similar to the way my room was otherwise.

This house was smaller than the one that we had in Maryland which was three stories if you included the basement. It had five bedrooms, and five bathrooms.

But i liked this house too. It was cute.

This house is smaller because Vermont has long, awful winters and a smaller house is easier to heat ad more comfy in the winter.
