Anneliese Michel died in her family home on 1st July, 1976 age 23. For the previous ten months she went through more that sixty sessions of exorcisms to rid her body of the demon/demons said to have taken possession of her.
After refusing food and drink through a belief of atoning for the sins of youth Anneliese succumbed to malnutrition and dehydration.
Was it a true demon possession or a medical disorder that affected her?
