Chapter 8 - First Friend

As my eyes close, as my lips touch her.. My heart pounds, as shivers goes down my spine, with my face blossoming a crimson color.

With this second I had, I only had a few words in my mind "Is this legal or illegal?"..

Quickly she pushed off me, as her face was red too... She backed-up and look like she was gonna have a mental breakdown from embarrassment, as she stumble backwards her eyes almost in tears.

"I'M SO-RR-Y!" She tried to say at the top of her lungs, but only squeaks of words came out.

"Yo-u, do-n't have to b-e frie-nds with me, I'm clu-smy...." She continued, as a small tear of came flowing down her face, as she look downwards in shame and despair. With my only thoughts that she is guessing that she broke our friendship in a single minute from falling on top of me.

I get myself up, still being crimson tomato. Seems she didn't think much of her lips touching mine, wait was that a kiss? No, no, no... I don't think that was proper kis-, OH GOD I NEARLY KISSED HER! Why am I getting so red, and flustered.. She still a baby like me, what am I thinking.

As I hear a small baby cup whine, instantly taking me out of my trance. As I see Vellin making small tiny whimpers.

"We still can be friends!" I say holding back all my thoughts of what just occurred, as I pat her soft hair..

She looks up at me with puppy eyes.. As she runs her head still down into my chest, hugging me.

"Rea-lly?" She says in a woeful voice.

"Mhm" I say simply, nodding.

Her grip tightens around my small body, although ever so slightly. We're both babies or some call us cubs, so we aren't strong but we're fragile.

"I'm sorryyyyy!" She couldn't help crying, I guess this was really the first time she felt any friendship.

I only smiled in satisfied joy, she my first friend! 

"We're friends! Don't forget!" I say, as she lessens her grip. She smiles contently, from the few words I say. 

"Okay!" Her tears stopped flowing as she rubs her eyes, although her dual dimmed eyes started changing, making the two different eye colors bloom from the sparkling light reflecting from them. As the rest of her face is taken up by a smirk of pure happiness.

 "Oscar!" Mamma popped out, from the clothes section, carrying in her other hand a beautiful garnet dress and a suit.

I turned my head, as Mamma mouth opened with glimmers of waves coming out, with her fearful eyes glowing.

"You made a friend.." She muttered, almost in shock trying to keep her joy hidden. But with my super hearing, I can here her mutters.

"Ma'am, do you wish to buy a bigger bag, or use the cheap one?" The store keeper said behind her.

After she snapped out of her shock of her joyous fantasy dreams.

"Yes, I'll take the bigger ones." She replied, giving a small bow towards the shop keeper. But as the shop keeper was about to respond, she turned around holding Rosebella in her arms.

"Oscar, I bought you an outfit for your birthday!" She said holding a white baby tuxedo, with fine art work and patterns.. With two moon symbols on the collar.

"Thank you, Mamma!" I said my eyes fulled with delight.

"Are you lea-ving no-w, Oscar?" Vella asked, a bit disappointed but still happy that we're friends.

I look at Vella, and look back at Mamma with my own puppy eyes.

Mamma responded with a small nod, turning towards the shop keeper.

"Mr Anxi? Am I correct?" She said being very formal and polite.

"Yes, Ma'am what do you need?" He said not understanding the situation.

"Can your daughter come over and play with my son?" Mamma said, making a small gesture so Mr Anxi the store keeper, so he could see us two.

"My daughter has a friend!" He shouted out, I doubt he meant to.

"Oh sorry I said that out loud, of course she may come and visit him." Mr Anxi finished.

Mr Anxi looked similar to Vella, he had brown hair, and a brown beard. With brown eyes, he had the full set of brown features.

I'm guessing Vella Mother, has green eyes and black hair.

"Thank you, I'll write down my address." As Mamma, goes towards the wooden cash register, writing down her address and buying the clothes.

"So we ca-n pl-ay togeth-er?" Vella asked, a bit nervous.

"Yeah!" I say, "My house is huge, we can play together all day." not hesitating to make a small smug smile.

"A-l-l.. Al-l.. All.. Day!" She said, as I saw smoke coming out of her wolf ears. I'm assuming she doesn't play much.

I nod, as a response.

"We've gotta leave now Oscar." Mamma said, crouching behind me.. And tickling my weak spot.

"Mamma, nuuuuuu.." I say, as I feel light headed and unable to gasp the relaxation.

She suddenly pulls me up onto her arms, putting me beside Rosebella who is staring at her dress. As I'm unable to escape Mamma grasp, as Vella smiles at me.

"Thank you, Papa.." Vella said, turning towards her Father. He only smiled back, as I wave goodbye towards Vella when leaving the store.

"Don't worry, she will visit in 2 days! You can spend the whole day having fun!" Mamma said whispering in my ear, as I can't help making a smile and hugging Mamma.

"Thank you, Mama.." I said.

Mamma only held me and Rosebella tighter, as she makes a small sigh of relief while entering the carriage. As I look at Aliza, carrying everything Mamma bought. She looked fine at the start but now she looks like a zombie.

"Oscar, is she nice?" Rosebella suddenly took my attention, asking me as we both sit on Mamma lap, as I hear Mamma hums of joy.

I nod, typically my way of saying yes.

"Can I play with her?" Rosebella looked at me, like she would cry if she can't.

Mamma noticed Rosebella, as Mamma rubbed her weak spot, as Rosebella fell almost asleep from the relaxation.

"Of course you can play with her, my baby girl." Mamma said, while Rosebella eyes started to close, she made a small smile hearing Mamma.

"Oscar, introduce Rosebella to your friend." She said, like an order.. I felt only fear from Mamma glimmering eyes, I only nodded slowly, and responding.

"Yes, Mamma.." I said, trying not to die from her eyes like they had their own powers weakening my sense of everything, almost like it an evil aura.

As Rosebella fell asleep, I stayed awake through the whole way back to the mansion in the carriage. As Mamma carefully placed me and Rosebella next to her on her bed, instead of the crib.

I was comfortable feeling the cozy warmth of Mamma and Rosebella, as we all snuggled together under a layer of blanket.

"Goodnight, babies..." Mamma said, kissing my head and the already asleep Rosebella.

As I could only think about playing with Vella, as I fell asleep, hugging tightly to Mamma.

I hope she likes my home... I say in my head, falling asleep.
