«Chapter 5»

The atmosphere at penthouse level suites was awkward, even more so when they two occupants of the parallel units met each other at the lift. Hayden would stare at the tall man, while Mrs Butterjacks would look away from Esovax's direction.

Esovax went to the local pizza restaurant to grab some comfort food to please his voracious appetite. He had taken a liking to Italian cuisine through his college years where he went to Rome to attend a twinning programme that would also pique his interest in Italian mosaics and murals. The intricate murals represented many emotions and he was drawn towards the images of renaissance warriors, kings and demons that haunted the townsfolk of Rome.

He walked into the pizza bistro that served up the best crusty golden brown pizza in town. A waiter escorted him to a couple table as he entered as a lone party. The aroma of herbs being sauteed with various meats and fish complimented by pizzas roasting in the oven encouraged Esovax to order the menu and that he did.

The wait was long but worth it, he was served an appetizer of meatballs and Caesar salad. The meatballs were oven baked to sublimity and the salad had a tangy flavour that tickled his tastebuds, he was a carnivore by choice but the waiter persuaded him to add greens to his diet to prevent indigestion.

Next on course was a family sized salami pizza topped with a wide spectrum of melted cheeses that caused the gluey texture that was the opposite the crispy crust that encapsulated the circumference of the piping hot pizza that smelt delectable. He plowed his teeth into a heavenly slice of pizza. His mouth had sex.

Last on course was a chocolate banana split that saliva-rated his mouth. But before he had taken a bite of the exquisite piece of art, the lights shut and the front door of the pizza store had been brutally splintered into a thousand pieces.

A team of armed robbers held the patrons captive at gun point and a squad went to the direction of the ATM. They were clad in sweaters and jeans, some opting for a more comfortable and practical track pants. A ski mask covered their faces and goggles completed their attire, a stereotypical but effective one.

"No one leaves without a bullet in their skull!" exclaimed the squad leader from his leadership and commanding of the operation. He was carrying a automatic sub-machine gun with two magnums slung across his shoulders. His eyes were darting around the room and his sweater stained of sweat, it was obvious he was anxious and fearful.

Esovax guessed this was first time. Such individuals often were unpredictable and would go into a frenzy if a mishap had occur-ed. But he didn't have the drive and blood cravings of that of a psychopath.

The captor's lips were parched and dry, his finger on the trigger, being paranoid as hell.

Esovax had to do something, a petrified father was gripping a knife till his knuckles turned white, ready to stab and mutilate if aggravated.

The tension was razer sharp, a single motion would have.triggered a bloodbath and the introduction of multiple mass murderers that would be hunted by the state, families of the deceased and their conscious.

Esovax made the first move.

He yanked out his wand from the deep pocket of his coat and sent an invisible wave of force headed directly at a chandelier that was above the bewildered leader.

Glass shattered on the man's head and the shards pierced through his ski mask.

First blood was drawn.

The injured captor shrieked in disgust as blood streamed across his face. He clutched and enveloped his cranium as he fell to his knees.

Chaos ensued after the shriek had alerted the men. Gun shots were being wildly fired in the air in a frenzy that could felt yards away.
