Chapter Four

The Prince's Birthday

Days of visitation turned into months, and from those months came years. Seasons changed, people came and left the small town. It was a miracle that the two friends weren't caught sooner, but at the same time the two got more and more creative with how they saw each other. They were clever, and sneaky. On one particular occasion, it was Ralsei's birthday. He had just turned 16. Jude met with him at the park and they spent the day together. She brought with her a neatly wrapped box all topped off with a pink bow. Jude handed him the small box. "Happy birthday Razzy." She smiled sweetly to him. Ralsei gingerly took the box, and slid the bow and paper off. Underneath was a black box. Ralsei looked up, with a smirk and a little bit of blush. "I'm really nervous Jude." He admitted. His paw grazed the box and he took the top off. Inside was a red heart attached to a chain. "I thought... I'd give you something to remember me when I'm not around." She rubbed the back of her neck. Ralsei put it on and had tears in his eyes. He jumped and wrapped his arms around her. Embracing her in a tight and emotional hug. They pulled away and looked in each others eyes. "I love you Razzy." Jude smiled. "I love you too, Judy." He smiled back.

Whilst holding hands, Jude's heart grew dead still and her body frozen as she heard two familiar voices. "Judeth?" that scary deep tone called out. Jude pulled away frightened, and quickly turned around to face her parents. "Is that a monster?" Her father called out, her mothers hands were up to her lips as she tried not to gasp. "Father, mother I can-" She was interrupted by a hard grasp that pulled on her wrist. "Come home." Her father tugged hard and jerked her away from Ralsei. Jude turned to Ralsei, and nearly started to cry. Ralsei's paw gently grazed her cheek as his eyes filled with tears. "Razzy! I'll find you!" She called out as she was dragged back to her home. "You will not be seeing that boy again Judeth. Do you hear me?" Her father barked. "You will find a good, Catholic human to spend time with. You stay away from that monster!" His voice cracked her heart, and made her breakdown. She yanked her arm back and spun around to see Ralsei holding his scarf close. "Razzy..." She waved and smiled. Tears fell down as the three humans disappeared into the skyline. Ralsei sat at the park, and looked at his necklace. He smiled and sobbed. "Jude... I'll steal you." he choked and whimpered words out to the point where they weren't recognizable anymore.

Nightfall eventually came, and Jude sat in her bed looking at the various Polaroid pictures of her and Ralsei. She smiled and tears hit her photos. "Razzy..." Jude turned to the clock, it was nearing midnight. Her parents were asleep and her hopes of seeing Ralsei that night were growing slim. She then slid her photos under the bed and went to shut her light off. As her fingernail touched the light switch, she heard the sweet, and faint sound of pebbles hitting the window that she so desperately needed to hear. She ran to the window, opened it up and pulled Ralsei in. She hugged him tight and he hugged her back. "Razzy I was so scared I wouldn't be able to see you again. Razzy please don't go." she hissed into his scarf. He let go and smiled wide, wiping her tears away she smiled back. "I'll never go. I'm always here no matter what happens. I... I love you Jude." He grabbed her hands. "I love you too." She sniffed and intertwined her fingers into his. "No Jude, I mean I love you. I think about you all the time, I dream about you. I want to be with you. I'm... In love with you." He admitted, and stated into her eyes. Jude was at a loss for words.

"Razzy..." She let go and cupped his cheeks, she pulled his lips to hers and gave the most loving kiss she could. Ralsei's tail wagged and he held onto her torso, pulling her closer as the kiss got deeper and more passionate. Eventually, they pulled away and rested their foreheads on each others. "I love you so much Ralsei." She admitted. He smiled and his tail went crazy. "Judy, I'll never leave you. We'll live together one day and we won't be in constant fear. I promise." He whispered to her in the softest and most loving tone imaginable. Jude smiled and kissed him once more. "I'll never leave you either." They both smiled, and laid down on the bed together. Ralsei held Jude close, and Jude grabbed onto his scarf. They looked in each others eyes and felt safe and secure. "Ralsei..." Jude rubbed her eyes and shut them gently. His hands ran through her soft hair. Carefully and lovingly, he sent her to sleep.

Ralsei gave one last kiss on her forehead and stood up quietly. He grabbed a piece of paper, a pencil and scribbled a note. He neatly folded the paper and set it by her hand. Then, he grabbed the covers and slid them over her. Warming her up on the cool autumn night. He climbed out the window and shut it behind him. He raced home, cheering and hopping. "I have a girlfriend!!!" He screamed and jumped to the sky.

For the first time, he knew he'd have somebody to lay with and say goodnight to.
