One of the first thing I remember learning from my mother is that confidence is key, even if you're just about scared shitless, be confident. I first used this theory on my first job interview. . . That didn't end well when I got fired because I seemed "too cocky", well that was their loss, I'm damn awesome. When I tested this for the second time it was on a date with the boy that for some reason every girl wanted to date. I was one of them too until I actually went on a date with him. Then I learned many things, He can't hold a conversation, he can barely form a sentence, and he doesn't watch Doctor Who.
I've always walked as if I was about to take over the world, when I was 5 I was convinced I was going to do that one day. Then when I was 10 and I learned that there are hundreds of galaxies out there the world simply wasn't enough. Then 15 struck and people told me to start thinking about what I really wanted to do. Doctor, teacher, housewife, accountant, stripper, actor (aka waitress in L.A.), engineer, astronomer? There was never a single career that made me think 'I'll be pretty content doing that for fifty to sixty more years' I wanted to do something where I was constantly learning, figuring new things out, putting the puzzle pieces together. Eventually the beginning of my senior year came and i though medical researcher could be something I was into.. I was right, now I internship in one of the highest research centers in the world. They don't think I'm too cocky, but then again they want me to be sure that I didn't just create a vaccine that will help fight the symptoms of the common cold not create the zombie apocalypse.
But during the school year I'm still studying to finish my degree. Of course I'm going for my doctorate. School is just as fun, I have a 4.0 GPA and I have lots of fun. That whole confidence thing really helps with the college boys who just want a one night stand. The geeky part of me is great with boys I would actually consider dating. My current crush is Kris, not dating nor have I slept with him. . . We're going out on a date again tonight, he's taking me ice skating. He always had this want to go ice skating for a date. We've been acquainted since we met in out first nursing class, something I wanted to take and he had to to fill out the requirements for his nursing degree. He's graduating this year and I'm about to get my bachelor's degree.
There's one thing different about this year, that is I'm going to log every day of it. For some reason I thought that there would have to be an introduction. . .
Brooklyn xx :)
