The Catastrophe (Credence x Reader)

Chapter Four

____ woke up and looked over to see Credence still asleep nestled in some blankets. She smiled to herself and got up to make some food. Before she got food she went up to her case and walked out of it to move it to a more secluded area just in "case". (Get it? Hahah)

Once in a hidden off area she went back in her case and went to making breakfast. Hoping that Credence would atleast like it a little bit she sighed waiting for the food to finish cooking.

After it was done she put the food on 2 plates and walked back to her room. Credence was awake sitting up in bed. "Hey Credence? I made breakfast if you wanted any." She said walking into the doorway.

He tilted his head slightly and nodded.  "Okay" he mumbled and got up. "So I was thinking Credence maybe we could go looking around New York a little bit today, I  was hoping to find a job and need to know my way. Only if you are up to it" she said sitting down at the table, Credence joining her.

He looked down at the food making ____ nervous that maybe he didn't like the way it looked. "You don't have to eat it if you don't want to... we can go buy some food or something nearby if you want that instead." She said looking at her own food.

She put her head in her hand and eat her food not wanting to look at Credence. Once she finished, she finally mustered enough courage she looked up. To her surprise Credence was eating too.

"It's pretty good, thank you"he said finishing it and putting it in the sink she had. ____ stared a little before blinking some and smiling. "No problem Credence. Did you want to change before we leave? I'm going to change and we can head out"

He nodded and went to where she had shown him yesterday. She went to her room and changed into a teal blue sweater, pants, and her combat boots. Quickly she put her hair in a messy bun and went to the ladder where her case opened up and waited for Credence.

He soon came out wearing some of her brothers clothes. "Just dashing, come on let's go!" She said excitedly climbing up the stairs.

She exited her case and he followed right behind. Once they were both out of her case she picked it up and they headed into the streets. "Okay ____ what do you want to see first?" She shrugged and smiled. 

"Alright then follow me. I'll point out places then" he gave her a small barely visible smile and they walked down the street. "So.. we could go to a store, you have American money right? If not maybe we can stop by a bank" credence said pointing to a bakery.

She looked at the bakery and smiled, "I have some money we can use, well let's go let's go!" ____ said eagerly walking across the street and into the bakery. 

Credence walked in after her and they looked at the selections. "Ooou, the cheesecake looks brilliant credence do you want to get some?" He looked over. "Sure"

She payed for the cheesecake," can I get 2 of the cheesecakes? Merci" she handed one slice to credence and they left. "We should eat these over on the bench." Credence said quietly.

They sat down and ate their slices while watching people walk by and cars drive around. "Being here.. makes me wish I came to America sooner. I don't have to worry as much when I'm here. Well I do, but not from people like me." ____ said smiling at Credence.

"Yeah. That's true. One second I'm going to throw our things away" credence said taking her trash as well and throwing it in a bin nearby. Suddenly they heard someone yelling.

"____! Is that you? ____!" Said a male.

"Credence do you wanna run with me? " she said looking quickly at him. He nodded and helped her up. "Okay let's go."

They took off running from the male and into another street then into an alley. "Sorry credence.  That was... that was one of my brothers.. I didn't know he was coming to America and he found me."

Credence sat down to take some breaths   "It's fine.  We're both running from someone. Do you atleast want to talk to him? He seemed actually worried."

She sighed and looked down the street to see her brother looking around with worry written all over him. "Okay... let's go..." she said eventually.

"Newt..." ____ said tapping him on the shoulder. Quickly Newt Scamander turned around and hugged her. "____. I've been completely worried, I had gotten a word from Dumbledore saying you didn't show up for school this year and I couldn't find you anywhere. Someone said they had seen you leaving on a boat and I came as fast as I could." He said then turned to Credence.

"Hello, I'm sorry, I don't think we've met. I'm ____s brother Newt. Nice to meet you. " He held out his hand. Credence flinched a little but nonetheless shook his hand. "Credence.. Nice to meet you"

"We just met the other day. He's staying with me for a while. He needs a place to stay" ____ said as they started walking down the street into another alley.

They both set down their suitcases and sat down. Credence sat next to ____. "Why did you leave. Why didn't you tell me or send an owl or discuss anything or atleast... it's been days. Days where you could've gotten hurt or lost or something with no way to tell me where you were."

She sighed and looked at credence for reassurance. He put a delicate hand on her hand. "Okay I'll tell you.."
