I know for most people, seeing as it is the day after Thanksgiving, don't consider this Christmastime. NOT ME. The day after Thanksgiving is the day my parents give me free rein to decorate the house and make Christmas plans. I am at this current moment in time listening to Jingle Bell Rock. So here!
Moon was awoken by her phone buzzing.
It was, predictably, Qibli.
"Shhhhhhh," she said as soon as she picked up. "Kinkajou is, miraculously, still asleep. Please don't wake her up."
"I just wanted to wish my favorite girl a merry Christmas," he answered softly. She smiled into her pillow.
"Merry Christmas," she whispered back.
"I'll see you in a few weeks," he said. "Okay?"
"Can't wait. I love you," she answered.
"I love you too."
She hung up and rolled out of bed, heading downstairs to start breakfast. Her Christmas was already off to a great start.
