What did I ever see in him before? I wondered as I stared at my soon-to-be ex-boyfriend's face. I wonder if I a pick a stone up and throw it at his head, will it knock some sense into him or will it kill the last few brain cells he has left in his thick skull? Surely he must've gotten dumber since the last time I saw him and today, I just didn't have it in me to put up with anyone's bullshit.
"I still don't understand why you can't just stay here? We only have like six months till we graduate anyway." Josh repeated.
"Because for the third time Josh, I am not eighteen yet. I can't live alone"
"Yeah, but you're like responsible, aren't you?" He argued.
I'm honestly not sure what he's not getting. This conversation was going nowhere.
"Josh, again, I can't live alone till I'm eighteen. Now if you don't mind, I have a flight to get to." I said as clearly as I can hoping he'll get the message.
"Wait!" He exclaimed. "What happens to us now? I don't do long distance." He scoffed.
"Yeah, neither do I. Which is why I'm telling you we're over as I've been trying to explain for the past fifteen minutes." I said slowly to try and get it through his barely-functioning brain.
"Ugh, whatever. You're not even that hot anyway." He lamely replied thinking that'll upset me. I couldn't help it, I burst out laughing and slowly applauded him. That was by far the most pathetic thing someone's ever told me in my whole entire life.
"Wow, you've outdone yourself this time Josh. Sometimes I feel like you're the reason the gene pool needs a lifeguard. Now if you'll excuse me?"
And with that I left him there gaping, possible trying to make sense of what I just said. With his IQ, he'll probably be standing there for a while. How old me put up with him, I have no idea. I climbed into my car heading to my next destination, the airport.
"Please god, let this be easy for me." I whispered as I took off towards the next chapter of my life.
