I DO NOT OWN HAIKYUU!! OR ANY OF ITS CHARACTERS

I stood there frozen and they began to circle in closer. Fuck, why me? There were eight guys and each one of them had a weapon. There's no way I can make it out of this.

The biggest guy of all of them raised a giant metal pipe and was about to strike me down. The only thing I could whisper was "Hinata".

Kageyama's pov

I cowered and shut my eyes in preparation for the assault. There was nothing else I could do in this situation. I'm not strong enough to fight back.

I tensed up and waited for the attack, but nothing came. He..stopped?

I heard an immense thump in front of me and winced slightly from the sudden noise.

I peeked open an eye only to see the guy lying on the pavement. He's unconscious and injured it seems. What the hell just happened?

I tiptoed carefully toward him to make sure he was legitimately knocked out. He had a large bruise upon his cheek and a trickle of blood streaming from his nose. Must of been a hella strong punch; also noting the stray tooth on the ground.

Upon hearing some footfalls, I noticed a faint silhouette next to the unconscious body. I hesitantly took a few steps back in caution. The shadow slowly moved closer and I was able to distinguish the bright orange mop that belonged to Hinata.

"Kageyama, are you alright?" He walked closer, wearing a concerned look. He stood in the light of the lamp post; making him truly look like a god. The light made his ginger locks shine and his brown eyes sparkle.

I would've pounced on him then and there, but that would just cause him embarrassment and confusion. He reached his hand out in a kind gesture, trying to see if I was okay. I was about to smack it away until I saw that his knuckles were pink and irritated.

"W-what..just happened?" Was all I could say before a large headache kicked in, causing me to topple over. I felt something warm hold me up while I went completely weak.

I heard a "Kageyama!" before everything began to blur into darkness.

~~~~~~~
I've really grown to like the warmth, haven't I? It makes me feel safe and secure. Although I hate the heat and humidity of clubs, I enjoy the lukewarm feeling I get when I wake up.
But why do I like it all of the sudden?
....
Ah, that's right. It's because of Hinata. Hinata gives me that warm sensation. No, I'm not talking about the one in my pants *sigh*. I'm talking about the pleasant, bubbly feeling in my chest.
I...don't understand what this feeling is. It hurts but not really in a painful way. I can't describe it exactly. Does Hinata feel it too?
I doubt it.
Could this feeling be love?
No way. There's no way I'd be in love with someone like him. There's too many things wrong with that. There's no way..
I finally mustered the strength to open my eyes and look around. I recognized that I was back in my apartment along with Hinata.
He was sprawled across my left leg; hanging slightly off the edge of the bed. He was lightly snoring while nearing close to falling on the floor. Dumbass.
I sat up slowly and a damp washcloth fell from my forehead. Did he put this on? Wait, did he carry me all the way back as well?? I can't believe he did that..
