White fluffy clouds were scattered in the light blue sky. Jack drove northeast along the coast with the roof down. Her hair was twirling in the breeze and she looked like an angel with that blissful smile on her lips. Sue was wearing a pair of deep blue shorts with a soft pink tank top. He would hold her hand or stroke her thigh as she read the map, trying to keep him on the right direction. Jack knew the only direction he wanted to follow, and it was the one leading directly into her arms. Tonight, he would get there.
Every few hours or so, they switched driver, and Jack would be able to admire her as much as he liked from the passenger side. She would blush when she felt his gaze linger on her for too long. He would laugh when she pushed his wandering hand away. She called him a road hazard.
They stopped mid-afternoon for lunch in a café and ate on the patio, under a huge blue and white umbrella. Across the street, Jack spotted a store he meant to take her to, ever since they changed their identities. He surprised her by leading her there, instead of their car. She could choose any style, as long as her size was available. She picked one, and he approved as he laid eyes on its delicate design. The salesman showed Jack the corresponding version, also available in the right size. Jack paid for the purchase and took the bag.
'Tonight,' he signed to her in the car before kissing her blushing cheeks.
Sue leaned her seat back and enjoyed the night sky over her. The traffic was light on the portion of the road they were driving on. She could have driven all night, it was so beautiful and so peaceful. They followed a detour sign and were on a deserted secondary road. Jack pulled over alongside the ditch, and once more, they switched side. Except, he slid on the passenger side before she had time to leave, enveloping her in his arms.
The moon was full and the stars were shining, giving enough illumination to see his facial expression but not quite enough to allow her to read his lips. His eyes were twinkling as he gazed passionately at her. He leaned the seat over completely, taking her down with him as he moved her over him. They had been driving twelve hours straight, he figured they deserved a break, and as far as he could tell...they were lost anyway. Later, he would have a look at the map. Now, he would savour the interlude. He explored her mouth as his hands wandered over her body, searching for the softness of her skin. She played in his hair, responding to his kiss. When mosquitoes decided to join the party for their midnight snack, they knew it was time to leave.
After pulling the roof up, Jack turned the light on and Sue cuddled as they studied the map. After twenty minutes, they were back on the main road. Around 2am they entered a small town, ready to call it a night. All the motels lining up the road displayed 'no vacancy' signs, all except one. They tried it, dreading what they would find. The room wasn't very big and it only had one bed, but it was clean and fresh towels were in the bathroom.
"Should we take it?" he asked Sue. They had insisted on seeing it before taking it.
"Yes, I am ready to fall asleep anywhere...including the back of the car," she added mischievously.
"Keep that thought in mind, my love."
They went out together. Sue took the bags in while Jack went to pay for the room.
She took advantage of Jack's absence to monopolize the bathroom. After a quick shower to sooth her mosquito bites, she changed, brushed her teeth and her hair, and went to bed. She meant to wait for him, wondering what delayed him for so long, but as soon as her head touched the pillow, exhaustion claimed her and she drifted to slumberland.

Jack filled in the card.
"Kevin Richards," read the friendly owner, a middle-aged man with a beer belly. "Nice to have you with us, Mr Richards. How many nights?"
