Twenty minutes later, the phone rang again. D had just left, and Bobby and Tara were having breakfast. Jack was on his way to check on two more Nielson in Nova Scotia, before crossing to PEI for a third name.

Bobby related Myles' adventures in Miami and the entire visit of the CIA agents. Jack agreed with D, they needed to work with those guys and trust them, but not blindly.

On their end, once they found Vanessa, they wouldn't re-enter the country immediately. They needed to wait for the outcome of the operation anyway, before they could determine the impact on Vanessa's life. Tara told Jack she could still access low security database without breaching too many international law.

Not just yet, he told her.

They were still at the hotel, ready to leave. Sue came to sit on his lap, her arms wrapped around his neck. She listened attentively. Now the titbits she gathered during the conversation made sense.

"How about what you are not telling me?" she said running her fingers in his hair.

"Maybe she was right to run away. What would we bring her back to, Naomi? An addict mother and a father who doesn't want her." He sighed, pulling his wife to him and kissing her hair. What can drive a man to turn away from his own daughter?

"Kevin?" She lifted her head toward Jack. "We need to ensure that she is, at least, safe. And I trust God to show us the right path."

He nodded. He would follow her lead. "I trust you."

"Ready to go, hubby?" She took the keys on the table. "I drive first." It was a nice day and she was looking forward to feel the wind running through her hair.

The first couple was home. Peter Nielson and his wife were in their fifties, and were remote cousins to Patrick and Molly. But Peter didn't know they were not living in Cape Breton any more.

The second couple was working, the babysitter told Jack and Sue, as two young children were screaming at the top of their lungs. Mike and Fiona Nielson would be back around six o'clock, and from the look on the sitter's face, she couldn't wait.

"Well, that wasn't a very fruitful day," said Sue, as she leaned in the passenger seat, mirroring Jack's thoughts exactly.

"If the couple in PEI doesn't check out, we will try New Brunswick."

She nodded, her head turned in his direction. The sun shining through his hair was giving it some very interesting highlights and she couldn't resist playing in it.

"You are very distracting, Naomi." Not as much as he was when she was driving, she was almost certain of it. "I could stop alongside the road, if you wish to admire the scenery."

She laughed, before kissing his cheek and returning her attention to the scenery around her. The fact was, she wouldn't mind stopping. To sit in the grass surrounded by all the wild flowers growing in the fields while he held her in his arms. To feel the sun on her skin as his touch awoke her senses, lit up a fire inside. She sighed, blushing slightly. She felt his finger on her cheek and their eyes locked for a moment before he glanced at the road again.

"Would you share, my love?" he asked, making her blush even more. "So, I can make your fantasy a reality."

"Maybe," she whispered, closing her eyes, a serene smile on her lips as she threw her head back.

Jack's hand trailed down her shoulder and her arm, to come to rest on her thigh where his fingers drew imaginary pictures.

When Sue saw the bridge, they were about to cross she gasped. "How long will it take?"
