I heard a shift in the sheets of the bed that Cassidy laid in. I turned back to look, but there was no sign that she had moved. Her heart was beating, but for how long. I knew for certain she was awake when she gave a groaning sound and tried to sit up. I immediately rushed to her side and ushered her back down, which she did once she eventually realized that it was me.
"Look at me Cass. You're okay now. I found you, you're okay."
"You found me," she said looking at me. "You saw me and you found me. Thank you."
The look in her eye was all that I needed to know that she was okay.
"How long," she started but I finished her thought.
"Only a couple hours," I replied.
"I guess they're gonna put me in a fucking psych ward," she said rolling her eyes and plopping her head back on the pillows. "They're going to make me think that Im crazy," she said burying her hands in her hands, to where I couldn't see her cry.
"Hey," I started moving from my chair next to her bedside and sliding next to her on the bed. "You are not crazy," I said pulling her into my arms. "You are not crazy," I said again. I moved her face to where she was looking up at me. "You," I started as she wiped her eyes, "Are not crazy."
She sniffled but dug herself deeper in my chest. We laid like that for the rest of the night.
