Emmie's POV

I get awoken to Milo crying. I try to make a bottle the best I could, but without a heat source, it was hard. I know baby's bottles are supposed to be warm, but hopefully, he'll take it.

"Good morning, Em," Lukas says with an obvious morning voice.

"Hey," I replied back. "We should probably think of a game plan on getting out of here. Because I don't think either of us would like to be here forever. And we need food, I'm starving."

"Me too," Lukas says while rubbing his stomach.

"Where are we anyway?" I ask him.

"A little bit past the border of Montana," Lukas replies.

"Oh, so where should we go? I mean, we should probably find a city."

"Yeah, um, well Wibaux is near here in like three miles. We could try going there first."

"Ok, do you have money? I only have thirty bucks and that won't get us very far."

"No, and I noticed we are low on baby formula for Milo."

I just nod my head. Milo. How are we going to support ourselves and Milo? I have only known Lukas and Milo for less than a day, and I already love Milo like my own and Lukas is like a best friend, maybe even a brother. With that thought, I think of my family, they are dead in a plane that I somehow made my way out of with only a few scratches.

"Em, are you okay? You're crying." Lukas says, breaking my train of thought.

I didn't even notice I was crying. "Yeah, I'm fine. Let's get going, I'm hungry," I pick up Milo and stand up. "Where do we start?"

"This way," Lukas says, pointing right in front of us.

We start walking and Milo is already getting heavy, I'm just glad he is a quiet baby and doesn't cry all the time.

~~

We have been walking for what seems to be hours, and Milo is starting to become really heavy.

"Hey, Lukas?" I ask trying to get his attention.

"Hm?" He says breaking out of his thought.

"Can you take Milo? My arms are getting tired."

"No problem," Lukas says relieving Milo from my arms. "Hey Mi, how are you?"

I smile to myself. "Mi is a cute nickname."

"Yea, thanks," Lukas says blushing. Wait, why is he blushing? I brush it off and try to start a conversation.

"So, what's your story?" I question "I mean, why did you run away from your-" I cover Milo's ears. "dickhead parents?"

"Well, they were young when they had me, they don't care about me." He starts to explain. "I basically lived at my best friend's house."

"Why did you run away if you had your best friend?"

"He moved with his mom's rich boyfriend halfway across the country."

"Oh, I'm so sorry."

"It's okay. I thought I'd start off new."

"What are we going to do once we don't need each other anymore?" I question again.

"Well, um, I was hoping you would stay with me," Lukas says fading on the last words.

"What? I didn't hear you."

"I said I was hoping you would stay with me." He says louder and more confident.

"Really? You would really want to have me in you-" I get cut off with him kissing me.

"Woah" I whisper.
