I was on Facebook looking up Kanani's ex. We had all talked about it together about two nights ago.

Flashback

"So in order for me to help at all, I need to know who this dude is and why he messing with you?" I said as I looked down at Kanani. Her mother was sitting next to her as me and her father stayed standing. She fiddled with her fingers as her eyes got watery. I kneeled down in front of her and grabbed her hands. Brushing my thumb back and forth on her hands I wanted to calm her down as much as I could.

Taking a deep breath she began to tell me the story.

I was sixteen and he was nineteen, he was cool with everyone around the block and he definitely was a ladies man. He drove an Escalade, stood at six feet. His hair had fresh waves and eyes like emeralds. His mahogany skin was smooth and soft to the touch. I adored everything about this man and he adored everything about me.  Everyday I'd get on the train to go to my school at High School of Fashion Industries and everyday at 2pm he and his crew would be sitting on their cars waiting for me and my friends to come out. My school wasn't an all girls school, but it was close since eighty percent of the students were girls.

"Hey beautiful you gonna ignore me again today or are you finally going to let me have your number?" He asked as he walked beside me. His friends took their usual place next to mine as we all just walked down to chipotle. I ignored his persistent banter as I reached for the door to chipotle. He moved my hand away before turning around to say "Don't ever open a door when you're around me, I got you boo." He opened the door and I walked through while thanking him for being a gentleman. We ordered our food and he even paid. Once we left they walked us back to school since we had wrestling practice. I turned around facing him said " Don't think just because you opened a couple doors for me and paid for my food, that I'm gonna give you my number." He chuckled before licking his cute lips. "I never said allat, you did princess."

Looking at him disgusted I said "Don't call me princess that sounds nasty. Plus I'm a queen get it correct." He put his hands up in defense while cackling. He was laughing a little to damn hard for my liking. I was about to turn and leave until he grabbed my arm while still laughing. Once he got hisself together he said "My bad, it's not like that. It's just you tried to be so tough but you ended up looking cute." I huffed before muttering a low "Shut up." He pulled me closer to him and asked "Since I can't give you nicknames yet, then what's your name?" I was hesitating on whether to tell him or not. I was going to lie until my best friend at the time Jailene yelled "Kanani, her name is Kanani." Whipping my head back I gave her the darkest glare ever.

"Kanani, that's a pretty name for a pretty girl." He said. He let me go before kissing my hand and turning to leave. "You never told me your name!" I yelled. He turned around while walking backwards and yelled "Blaq" I stood there dumbfounded.

He kept coming day after day, week after week, month after month and each time he would bring me flowers, jewelry or anything I'd want. He was the first guy to take me on dates and treat me like the queen I knew I was. Pretty soon we even dated I'd never forget the day he asked me to be his girl.
