     My eyes slowly fluttered opened and looked around. Where was I? I was in a long gown with a tank top underneath and some shorts. I felt my side and winced. Then it suddenly hit me like a bunch of bricks. I saved Dillon, killed Wyatt, and then I almost died. I felt like I was fading into darkness.  Damn….I almost died. I looked around realizing I was in the hospital. It must have been around 3 in the morning because everyone was sleeping. Dillon gripping my hand for dear life putting his head in my lap. Jenna and Aunt Darby sharing a couch. Jayce, Asher, and Uncle Gio on three chairs leaning their heads back.  I smiled softly; they never left me when I got admitted.  I really was lucky. The door softly opened with a young looking man stepping inside.

    “Hey…You’re awake? I’m Dr.Ren. How are you feeling?” he whispered not waking up the sleeping weirdo’s, I smiled softly “I’m feeling ok…I feel sore but I’m healing fast right?” I questioned. He nodded softly and looked at everyone sleeping. “You’re the king and queens niece huh?” he asked me. I nodded; “Well just letting you know, that they threatened to kill me if you weren’t ok” he chuckled softly. I laughed a little but then winced, “Hurts to laugh…”, “That happens because of your side, but you’ll get better. I promise you’ve been in here for about 3 days” he said.  I nodded softly and the doctor checked me and gave me some pain pills.  

       I laid my head back against the pillow falling into a deep sleep.  

About 9:00 in the morning:

       I heard rustling in the room and talking. “Is she ok?!?” Dillon literally screamed at Dr.Ren. “Well…Yes, she woke up around 3 in mornings-” Dr.Ren started but was cut off by uncle Gio. “WHY DID YOU NOT WAKE US?!?” he screamed at Dr.Ren, “Well, she said not to wake you guys up because she didn’t want to bother you, your majesty. I’m terribly sorry.” Dr.Ren said. I opened my eyes to see everyone facing Dr.Ren while he was in a corner.

   “Hey…Don’t go hard on him, I told him to leave you all alone because you were sleeping.” I spoke in a soft voice. Everyone’s eyes  suddenly turned to me and Dillon rushed over to me and hugged me tight. “I’m ok, I’m just getting healed up” I said kissing his forehead. Aunt Darby and Uncle Gio rushed to my side and kissed my forehead, “Don’t you ever put yourself in danger like that again!” Aunt Darby scolded me. “She’s right Sabrina. You can’t hesitate, that’s how an enemy reads you” uncle Gio piped in. “I’m so sorry…I didn’t mean to worry everyone… “I whispered a little. “Well, it’s all over now. You’re ok and safe. Angels are still looking for that stupid little bi-” Jenna started but Darby finished. “Women”. Jayce and Asher scoffed. “I’m going to slit her throat...” Jayce groaned.  “I’m going to throw her into prison for the rest of her life” Asher punched the wall making his hand all red. “Asher!” Jenna said scolding him. “We should give you and Dillon space” Aunt Darby said ushering everyone out of the room closing the door.

      Dillon stood up and walked to the other side of the room leaning his head against the wall.  “Dillon?” I whispered, he suddenly punched the wall and I flinched, seeing tears rushing down his face.  I unhooked my stupid machinery and walked behind him. “Dillon?” I said hugging him from behind, “I’m sorry..” I whispered against his back. He suddenly turned around and held me close, “I broke it…” he whispered his voice scratchy.

     “What?” I asked,  “The promise….I broke it…I’m such a pathetic excuse for a mate. I couldn’t protect you…You should just de-” I cut him off by kissing him.

     “Don’t you ever finish that sentence!” I whispered on the brink of crying. “You can’t do that Dillon! You can’t just make one mistake and just give up! I’m your mate! Better or worst we we’re made for each other! You can’t just do that….” I yelled at him.   “I’m an angel…It takes a lot to kill us but one thing that can kill us is losing our mate.  Every time I’m around you I feel safe” I said moving away from him and towards the window.   

     “Dillon….I can’t lose you…It was my fault…I shouldn’t have hesitated.” I said looking out the window, “I’d die if I lost you….I went crazy when you got kidnapped, It wasn’t just you who made that promise…I made it too.” I whispered.  I felt him come behind me wrapping his arms around my waist and resting his head on top of mine.  “I’m so sorry…Just don’t say to deny you….because I need you to survive. You’re my air and my lifeline. Please don’t leave me…” I leaned into his body as he held me and started crying. “Don’t be sorry…I should be sorry…I shouldn’t have said that” he said, he sighed. “This time I’m not going to let nothing or no one touch you. I swear on my life, I’m going to put you first.” He said turning me around hugging me.

    “I promise…For real” he whispered into my ear holding me close. We stayed in comfortable silence until my side started hurting me again. Dillon picked me up gently and carefully setting me down on the hospital bed.  “I could have walked you know…” I shrugged, “Pssh…let me spoil you princess” he said kissing my forehead..Whatever...” I said, “Shh…get some rest. I’ll be here when you wake up” he said putting the blanket over my body and he started to walk away. “Wait!” I said reaching for his hand, “Hmm?” he said turning around.  “Lay down with me?” I asked pulling towards me. “Your uncle will kill me…” he said, “He’ll get over it.” I said pulling him down to my right side because my left side was still sore.  Dillon gave in and laid down next to me and holding me careful not to touch my side.

    I put my head on his chest and wrapped my arms around his torso. I fell into a deep sleep with him stroking my hair away from my face. 

      3 days later…

            Time in the hospital was kind of fun because of everyone visiting me.  Dillon only left at least two times and when he did he got Drew and Harmony to look over me, giving them septic directions to what and what not to do. I also met Harmony’s and Drew’s mate, Harmony’s mate  was dragon slayer. Fire dragon slayer to be precise.  He was pretty much exactly like Harmony, Drew’s mate was a shadow hunter and man….she scared the almighty crap out of me. But she was actually pretty nice, you know once you got over the ‘are you a demon?!?’.

        I was currently watching TV with everyone in the room doing something either doing homework, alpha work, or on their phones and laptops.  A knock at the door caught everyone’s attention. “Hey Sabrina!” Dr. Ren said, I found him very cheery and I found out his mate was also a dragon slayer but his mate was a guy. Hey more power to both of them, they were so cute together.  “So, I got your discharging papers and you can go home! Thank god…” Ren said groaning.  

   “Finally! We can go on our date” Dillon said smirking at me but Gio growled at him.  He hushed up and I chuckled. I filled out all the paperwork and got discharged.  I walked outside into the angel world and it was amazing. Thank god I was out! I can’t wait for Dillon’s and my date! AHHHHH! FREEDOM!
