Harry's POV

My heart stopped. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I looked around, too scared to look behind me. I was terrified that if I looked to see where that voice was coming from, I'd realize I was just dreaming and get disappointed. I saw the looks on my friends' faces. They were all surprised but scared too. I decided to look.

My heartbeat went faster and faster every second that I just stared back into those beautiful grey-blue-green eyes that I had missed for so long. Tears uncontrolably ran past my eyes, and onto my cheeks. We all ran to Kylie's bed, I was the first one there.

"KYLIE!" I exclaimed, throwing my arms around her. Soon enough, I felt everyone on us in a big group hug.

"Ow." Kylie let out a little mutter. We quickly drew ourselves back, trying not to hurt her.

"Oh, Kylie. I missed you so much." Danielle said. Eleanor started crying, and climbed in the bed next to Kylie. The 3 best friends wrapped their arms around each other.

"Baby." Kylie said. I smiled, ready to go kiss her. I've been dying to kiss her. When I edged in, she looked more surprised than happy.

"Harry? Um, what are you doing?" She slowly moved away.

"What does it look like? He's kissing his girlfriend, silly." Louis laughed, thinking this was all a joke. But I know it wasn't. Kylie wouldn't play around like that, especially after about a week of us not seeing her.

"His girlfriend?! Zayn, why does Harry think I'm his girlfriend. You're my boyfriend." She looked at Zayn, intertwining her fingers in his. I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces. The room grew silent, you could hear everyone's hearts beat faster with panic. I was really hoping for Kylie to say 'HAHA, JUST KIDDING!'. I waited and waited for her to scream out and laugh. But it never came. I could see in her eyes she was being serious. She thought Zayn was her boyfriend.

Louis' POV

I knew this was all a joke. I mean, we all knew that. Right?! Obviously Kylie knew who her own boyfriend was, in this case being Harry.

I mean, the truck didn't hit her that hard... did it? I felt Eleanor's hand shake in my own. I turned back to look at her. Her eyes were filled with water and her cheeks were drained in tears. So were Danielle's. "Please tell me she knows that Zayn isn't her boyfriend." Eleanor whispered in my ear, her voice breaking.

I looked back at her, my eyes starting to fill up too. "Please just comfort me and say everything's going to be fine." I heard Danielle silently say to Liam.

It was going to be fine.

Maybe.

Maybe not.

Liam's POV

"Please just comfort me and say everything's going to be fine." Danielle whispered in my ear. Everyone started crying, including Zayn. I've never seen Zayn cry before. Besides for when he found out that Kylie got hit by that truck in the first place, but still. I didn't see him cry in person, Niall had told me about it. I looked around. Louis was crying. I've never ever seen him cry before either, in fact, he was the last person you would ever think of being sad.

Everyone was crying. I wanted to hold Danielle in my arms and tell her everything was going to be okay, like I always did whenever something horrible happened. But in this case, I didn't know if it was going to be alright. I really didn't know. I expected the best, that Kylie was going to wake up all fine.

But in this case, Kylie woke up and she didn't know the difference between the love of her life, Harry, and one of her best friends, Zayn.

"I wish I could, Dani. I really, really, wish I could." I cried.

Zayn's POV

I repeatedly drummed my fingers on my jeans. Then the door finally opened. Our heads all snapped up. We sat in the waiting room. Harry was with Kylie in her hospital room, trying to convince her she was his girlfriend. Not mine. And that kind of disturbed me. I don't know why, but there was a part of me that still loved her. I mean, she's beautiful, kind, sweet, and absolutely lovely, what guy wouldn't love her?

I kept thinking that if she really thought I was her boyfriend, then it was for the better. Maybe fate was bringing us back together once and for all. Maybe we were destined to be together. Not Kylie and Harry, but Kylie and me.

Kylie and Zayn. I remember our name, Zylie. I laughed at the memory of when Kylie and I first announced how we were dating on Good Morning America, and 'Zylie' was trending all over the world seconds later.

Maybe, just maybe, we were made for each other and God was trying to make sure it would happen.

Harry walked out of the room. He looked horrible. He was crying, nonstop. He closed the door after himself, and immidiately collapsed to the ground on his knees.

We all ran to him and surrounded him, kneeling next to him on the ground. Louis placed his hand on Harry's back.

"Mate, what happened?"

Harry burried his face in Louis' shoulder.

"I c-can't convince her. She d-doesn't, she doens't rememb-ber." He stuttered, still crying.

"Kylie has short-term amnesia." The doctor explained.

"AMNESIA?!" Niall exclaimed.

"It's only short term." The doctor repeated.

Eleanor frowned. "It's still amnesia, kind of important."

The doctor sighed, stubornly. "Yes, but it's only short term."

Eleanor gave him a death stare. I chuckled slightly.

"If it's SHOT TERM amnesia, how come she remembers all of us?" Louis asked.

"Well, that is what amnesia is. It's basically just memory loss, but not everything. Kylie may just forget details in her life. Like when she lost a pet, or her first job, or-" The doctor got cut off.

"Or when she dated Harry." Liam said. We all nodded quietly.

"Maybe it's best if you don't tell Kylie that she was really dating Harry. She only forgot when you guys first started dating, she remembers everything else. She remembers when you guys liked each other, and when you first snogged, and then when she dated Zayn. If we tell her what's really going on she'll get really confused." Danielle said. The doctor nodded.

"For her sake. But, a perk of short term amnesia is that she only forgets for some time. After you guys hang out more, she should start getting some memories back. B-" The doctor said, but Liam cut him off again. Harry's eyes widened at the doctor's words. There was hope. For Harry, anyway.

"But?" Liam asked, nervously. The doctor bit his lip sadly.

"But it will take time for the memories to start coming back. It takes time and dedication. You might want to show her some pictures if you have any of her and Harry. Maybe tell her a new memory each day. O-" Yet again, Liam cut the doctor off.

"OR?!" Liam exlaimed, anxious.

"Or she might never get it back."

Shit.
