Up in the heavens, no, further. No, a bit further.. too far! A little lower... there. That's Heavishen, land of angels and demons, and everything in-between and not in between.
Peaceful catacombs of clouds and kindly villages, where the ground was soft and the world was kind.
Dreamer stretched and took flight, billowing his great angel wings and letting the air whistle through his fur, a flurry of orange and pink, the skull mask on his face tight as always, as it never came off.
As he soared, he gazed downwards. The roaring, bright fields sped past him. The wind whirred past his ears and left a faint ringing and coldness on them. And he looked back, far from his cottage on the tiny island of Heaven's Edge, to the levitating and busy island in the center of the gravitational pull, Heavistowne. Wide stone bridges connected it to the orbiting islands that circled around it, like the planets orbit the Sun's.
The Seven Suns began to hide under the hills as Dreamer landed at his destination. The fluffy earth felt light to the touch on his feet as he landed on the island, and little sprouts poking out from the cloudy soil brushed at his toes.
Walking along the pathway and pushing past the overgrown bamboo stalks led to golden barred gates shimmering in the evening sun.
Dreamer gazed skywards, then opened his clenched hand holding keys and unlocked the gates, walked in, turned around, and locked them again. He sighed as the earth sank under his feet and began to walk.A bird chirped and attempted to perch on the gate, but was taken aback by a forcefield surrounding the contents inside the gates. Dreamer looked back to check if it wasn't an intruder who somehow managed to get past the magic protecting the island. Nobody can get in except him, this place should be hidden from everyone.
He continued to walk at a leisurely pace, as if trying not to disturb something. He pushed past stalks of bamboo and made his way up a huge, stone staircase with thin, mossy and cracked steps. Looking up, intricate stone pillars with carvings of different angels reached towards the sky, and cast large shadows under the glow of the Seven Moon's, perfectly in line with it's arch.
And as Dreamer reached the top of the staircase, he shuddered. He gently stepped over lumps of light blue clouds and dark, veiny roots. Glowing, blue butterflies fluttered past him and brushed against his arms and wings. He went over to the large, shadowy mound in the middle of the stone platform and brushed a strand of hair from its face,
The Queen's lifeless corpse.
It was peculiar, at least from an outsiders point of view. But this was normal, this was an everyday thing. He would fly from his little brick cottage, land in Queen's Island, tend to the garden, and reminisce about the past.
Why? Because he made a vow. A promise to protect the Queen and her Powers, to make sure nobody finds her and steals what's important. And by Godseeker, Dreamer was going to protect her with his life. He was the guardian of Queen's Island.
