"She let you pick out her outfit for tonight?" Micah asked
"Yes. Don't sound so surprised."
"Your ass always do too much. Her fits be showin' too much skin when you dress her."
"You know you talk too much shit, right?" Ed asked with slight sarcasm
"I don't know, I don't think this is too much skin." I said walking out of the bathroom
"Aw shit, look at my baby!" Micah called out
I smiled and looked in the mirror, "Cute, huh? Eddy actually did good."
"I did go off, huh?"
"Mhm mhm. Sooo, where y'all goin'?" Micah questioned
I sprayed some perfume on my wrist and neck, "I wanted to just take her out to eat."
"That's it? No huge gesture to tell her much you love her?"
I rolled my eyes, "I don't love her."
"Forget the love part, I just feel like you should do something more than dinner."
"Way to make me feel bad, now I don't even wanna take her out."
"Oh shut the hell up. I was just saying."
"Yea, you always just sayin'. What you think I should do then?"
"Beach maybe? I don't know, something a bit more than just eating. Y'all gonna be doin' alot of that tonight anyway."
I laughed, "Yea no. I think what I have planned is just fine bitch. Just wait until Normani tells you all about it."
"Why would Normani tell me about it?"
"Because I know Rob runs her mouth, and so does Normani. And I damn sure ain't tellin' you shit because you doubtin' me right now."
"Right. My good sis know what she doin'." Ed added
"I ain't tellin' you shit either, y'all both in cahoots together."
"Lani—"
"Nope. I'll see y'all tomorrow though!" I said grabbing my keys and phone, rushing out of the room to leave my house.
I could only hope tonight would go as planned.
7:30 PM
Before leaving my house, I texted Rob to check in and see when she'd be ready. She told me she was ready whenever so I took that as now.
I wasn't sure if I should get out the car and knock on her door or just stand outside my car and wait for her to come out. So, me being me I just sat in the drivers seat, waiting to see those hazel eyes again.
10 minutes my car door opened slowly and there she was. I let a smile come across my face.
"Robyn."
"Kehlani." she said entering the car, shutting the door behind her
"You look good."
"So do you." she said eyeing me with a smile
I smiled again and began to drive.
"Still not gonna tell me where we goin'?" she questioned as she put her seatbelt on
"I could, but I don't think I want to quite yet."
"I hate surprises, Kehlani." she said looking at me
"Ah, chill out. We gonna be eating, i'll tell you that much."
"And what else?"
"Well...we'll talk."
"Talk?"
"A serious talk that I'd rather wait to actually talk about later."
"What is there to talk about?"
"I just said I don't wanna talk about that right now."
"Is this about Solána? Because I told you that wasn't a big deal."
"Stop asking so many questions, Robyn."
She looked at me for a few seconds before looking out the window, not letting another word escape from her mouth.
"I told you we'll talk later, okay?"
"Okay, Kehlani."
"Now you mad at me?"
"No, just don't get smart with me. I ain't tryna fight with you tonight."
"I'm sorry, baby." I said in a soft tone
She let out a breath and shifted in her seat a bit. I glanced at her with a smirk, realizing the impact that my words had on her.
She noticed my facial expression, "What?" she questioned
"Hm?"
"Stop playin' with me, Kehlani."
"What am I doing?"
"You and this 'baby' shit. Why ya keep callin' me that, huh?"
"I call everybody baby, relax."
The car went silent for a few seconds.
"So I guess i'm everybody?" she questioned
I glanced at her and laughed, "Girl."
"What?"
"Why you tryin' to find a reason to fight with me tonight? I'm chillin'."
"I'm just asking a question, Kehlani."
"Look," I grabbed her hand, "Let's fight and argue later, we finally got time to be together so let's spend this time wisely, yea?"
She sighed and looked away. She didn't even try to argue with that because it was true.
