Rudy looked at what he had in his hands and puzzled over it.

"Freaky", he said."These must be the bullets that killed her".

"Let me see them!Hurry!"

Rudy reached up and handed Mark the bullets. It was just as Mark had suspected. These weren't any old bullets that had put this woman to rest.

"Rudy, these are silver bullets!"

"Really? Do you think they are worth something?"

Rudy still didn't get the big picture but to Mark it was as crystal clear as the full moon above them. You don't easte silver bullets on human beings. You save them for werewolves.

Mark dropped the bullets into his jacket pocket and desperately reached out to grab his brother's hands.

"Come out of there, Rudy! Come out now!"

But Rudy took his time, admiring the diamond necklace in his hand. "Well", he said proudly, "our work is done here."

Mark tried to warn his brother, but he was suddenly unable to speak, dry-mouthed with fear.

Because Madame Thornhill was beginning to move.

Rudy realized it a moment too late. He looked down and saw life returning to the creature's sunken eyeballs, saw it's upper lip twitch like a dog sniffing a steak. Rudy might have escaped if he's scrambled away in the next instant, while Madame Thornhill's old, dead limbs were swelling and flexing with recovered life. But he just stood there, frozen in disbelief--

And then it was too late.
