𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟐 The one with the golden eyed girl

𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐲 rang the number of the phone as soon as she got off of the Subway. She was really hoping to get an answer, but no one picked up. She felt her heart drop a little bit.

"Zut!" She slammed the pay phone back into the telephone booth. She had a few minutes to look around before she had to meet with her papa. What if that guy had given her a wrong or fake number? He seemed so nice. Salaud, those are the ones that get you.

She pulled her beige beret down a little tighter and pursed her lips. She walked through the wonderful garden and up the steps. She looked around to find her father. Her honey curls laid sprawled across her face.

Her father was a member of a shady organization. She never thought any of it because she never took part in it. But, when he had called her on the phone, it seemed pretty serious and she knew he only ever got serious when it came to his organization matters.

She finally spotted him next to a tall pillar. It seemed that he was speaking into his earpiece and making vulgar hand motions. She walked towards him slowly. Her papa had taught her that it was bad to run towards him, he didn't want anyone to notice him in public places.

She walked close enough for only him and her to hear. "Papa!"

"Ah! Janie, you've finally come!" Her papa could speak fluent English and French, which is the only reason she knew as much English as she did. Her gave her a tight hug, making sure she didn't ruin his good tux.

"Listen here Janie, I have something to tell you." He seemed antsy and fiddled with his fingers. He made sure to turn off his earpiece before saying anything else. He twirled his mustache that seemed to be gelled as well. He spoke to her in English in public.

"You know how my organization runs, right?" He looked from left to right and back at her again, like he was afraid to let something slip. She nodded.

"What is it papa?" She wanted to get this conversation over with. She didn't like putting herself into her father's affairs.

"My.. Friends will be staying with us for a while and it is not safe for you to stay here for awhile. I'm sorry Janie, but my organization is doing something very great and needs a lot of support from the Ives family." He rubbed her shoulder.

"It's okay papa, I understand, but where will I go? Where will Clara and mama go?" Her eyes were full of concern for her family. She knew not to anger her father or his business associates. They were great and powerful people, just like her family. They held the key to a lot of money and power.

Not only did her family have lots of money, her father's bloodline was directly connected to the old Tzar of Russia. Jane didn't know much about her Russian side of the family, but she knew it was important.

"Do not worry, my sweet chéri. You will be going to Germany with your mother and Clara for a year. You will be staying with your aunt Emilia in Berlin. You all will be leaving next week. I unfortunately will not be joining you, but do not worry about me."

She felt a tear form at the corner of her eye. What would happen to her house and belongings for a year?

"Papa, can you at least tell me what business is happening at our home?" She pleaded. Her pap usually never told her about his meddling affairs, but she had a small feeling he would this time.
