I should've been there.
A warm shadow running shoe-less,
You trapped all of the enigmas
In an ice cream bucket under my bed, I loved having secrets.I should've been there
In the moments of hesitation.
You nudged me awake.
Thinking I haven't already heard you sobbing and grinding your teeth.Your face was a crumpled love letter.
I should've been there
As the cold sky stole your voice
In the sad British streets
With the sad British rain.
You gestured me to come closer
as if I was any warmer.I should've been there to wipe the coffee fog off of your glasses
To unveil your lucid eyes to me,
This time,
Without hesitation

PoésieThis is a collection of the original poems I've composed from early 2017 onward. I've had fun experimenting with surrealism and hope to inspire others!
