-Dan's POV-
I knock on Y/N's door rapidly. After a couple minutes, I try the handle. It's locked. Thinking she's asleep, I look in the mailbox and see a key at the bottom. I assume that it's a spare and pull it out. I unlock the door and open it swiftly. "Wow, it's messy in here." I walk around tidying up the kitchen and living room. I wander into the hallway, seeing her room at the end. I walk in to see her asleep on the bed, with shoes and all. I nudge her shoulder until she flips over.
-back to first person-
I squint at the man in my house. I almost panic but seeing the frizzy hair of my bestest friend. "Danny? What are you doing here?" I ask, pulling off my shoes and sitting up.
"I came to get the hot goss," he pauses for suspense. "About you and Matt..."
"Really? I don't think there's anything going on between us." He gives me a knowing look. I can tell that he will be persistent until he gets what he came here for. I look over at the clock, which reads, 5:06.
"Girl, I saw the way you hugged him!" Dan says smirking with a laugh. He giggles like a school girl.
"Well, Ryan winked at me this morning," I say, scratching the back of my neck.
"Maybe Matt said something to him."
"I don't know. Maybe..." I try not to think about it. My last partner and I, we didn't really have a connection. The obsession they had with me, it was unhealthy. I look back up at Dan and give him a half-smile. He looks at me with apologetic eyes. He holds his arms out and I fall into him.
"I'm sorry," he says next to my ear. I clear my mind completely and think abiut the one thing that keeps me together, family. I pull away from Dan's embrace slowly. He gets up and helps me to my feet. "How about we make some kiwi lemonade and watch a movie. That used to help in back high school."
"Yeah, that would be great." I walk with him to the kitchen and grab the ingredients for my 'famous' kiwi lemonade. "Hey Dan, why don't we use coconut water instead of regular." I turn around to see Dan with his ear against the wall. "Um, Danny?" I walk towards him,"What are you doing?"
"Shhhhh!" I flinch, "I'm listening." Realizing that Matt and Ryan's apartment was what he was listening to, I curse my curiosity and join him.
"Ah, dios mio!" I sit on the floor and pull him down with me. He lets out a small shriek and ends up cross-legged on the floor. After listening for a few minutes, we finally hear people talking. It's muffled, but understandable.
"How about I say I have to do something and cancel on lunch? You two could go alone... like a date," We hear what sounds like Ryan, say.
"But Ryan, she likes you. I mean not like that but-"
"Fine then!" Ryan yells, loud and clear. I face Dan with wide eyes. He copies me with a similar look. I hear heavy footsteps then a door slam and assume that Ryan got pissed off and stormed to his room. I hear the door slam again and think the same of Matt, but I'm surprised by a sudden knock on my door. Dan and I get up and walk to the door. I open it wide to see who else but Matt and Ryan.
"Come in?" They step through the door and say hello to Dan. I turn to them, "so why exactly are you here?"
"We were arguing over something stupid," Ryan starts. Looking over, I make eye contact with Danny. "but we thought we'd see if you were here to you know..."
"Hang out." Matt finishes.
"Well, Dan and I are going to do what we used to do back in high school, which is making kiwi lemonade and watching movies." Matt gives me a confused look.
