I wake up and slip out of bed, looking at the clock. I realize that I slept in a little longer than I usually do, since I was up late last night. The memories come flooding back. I smile to myself as I start to get ready. I put on my clothes for the day then check my phone.

Text from new number: Hey, this is Matt! Ryan and I will be over at 12:30 for lunch :)

Text from new number: yo it's Ryan

I add the boys' numbers to my phone and decide to sit and wait in the living room. On the way to the couch, I light a candle, just because. After about 10 minutes, I begin to feel a little hot. I head to the nearest window and open it halfway. Suddenly, the front door opens.

"Hello," Ryan says, walking in. I start to worry that my door was unlocked. Someone could've come in and robbed me!

"Howdy, no need to panic. We didn't break in. I found the key in the mailbox by your door." I should really move that. I sit down on the couch as they hurry in. Matt sits down next to me.

"Well, where are we going to lunch?" I ask, leaning on Matt's shoulder. As Matt wraps his arm around my shoulders, Ryan falls over on to the couch, hitting Matt on the way down. He shrieks, making me jump.

"Sorry! We were thinking of pad Thai. We have sushi a little too often." Ryan laughs lightly. His laugh is so chaotic but manages to be cute at the same time.

"I'd be alright with that. Ryan, can you move, I can't get up."

............................................................

When we get to the restaurant, we sit down at a small round table. The next hour is spent eating and laughing.

"I had a great time getting to know you guys better," I say, walking to the exit. I take a quick look at my phone since I had it on 'do not disturb'. There are a few missed calls, but I brush them off. They were probably telemarketers. We hop into Ryan's car and head back home. As we turn the corner, flashing blue and red lights catch our attention.

"Woah," Matt starts, "do you think there was a fire?" As we approach our apartments, yellow caution tape blocks off the area. Ryan parks the car and we all get out. Matt grabs my hand and heads over to one of the police officers.

"Excuse me, sir, what happened?" Matt asks. The officer turns around.

"One of the apartments caught on fire, number 205."

"Oh shit! Isn't that your apartment?" Ryan walks up to us. I stare at the officer and nod, shocked.

"Yeah, it is..." I mumble. The officer lifts the tape and asks me to go with him. The rest of the next few hours went by in a blur. Apparently, the curtains caught on fire from the candle next to the open window. Everything inside of my apartment was completely ruined. I call Danny and tell him the bad news. He offers to let me stay with him, and I gladly accept.

"Hey, I'll take you to Dan's place." Matt says. He places his hand on my lower back, taking me down to his car. We get in and start the drive to Danny's house.

"I'm really sorry about your house, Y/N." He says, quietly.

"Its fine."

"Are you...okay?" He says, setting his hand on my thigh. I yank my leg over.

"Yes! You can stop trying to make me feel better..." I yell.

~Matt's POV~

I look over to Y/N. I can tell that she is going to break. I pull the car over and park it. I turn in my seat to look at her.

"It's okay. This is a hard day for you, and you can't just-" She sobs, lurching over to me. I hold her, letting her cry on my chest. We sit there for a while until she sits back in her seat.

"Better?" I ask, kissing her on the cheek. I put the car in drive and look at her. She nods, wiping away tears.

~1st person POV~

We reach Danny's house and Matt opens the car door for me. He places his hands on my hips, pulling me into a hug. He separates and says goodbye. After he leaves, I walk to the door. After ringing the doorbell, Danny opens the door.

"Hey, come in." He says. He shows me around and gives me clothes to sleep in.

"Thank you so much, Danny," I start, "for letting me stay here."

"Of course, you're like my little sister." He pats me on the back and leads me to the guest bedroom. "You gonna be alright by yourself?" He asks, walking towards the door.

"Yeah," I respond, getting into bed.

"I'll be watching TV if you need me." He closes the door behind him as he leaves the room. I get comfortable and soon fall asleep.
