Chapter 4 - Power

The Oxeloads have attacked the town once again. Jenkin and his friend Edwin grabbed their weapons and ran to the streets. Soon they faced one of the members of Oxeloads. Wearing black outfit and carrying a sword, we were sure that he is one of them.

"You! You are one of the Oxeloads aren't you?!" asked Jenkin to the guy

"Oh you're right. So do you want to become one of us or die?" said the rebel

"Nope. You're the one who is going to die!" shouted Edwin to him

"You're funny boy." he said that as he pulled out his sword

Jenkin pulled out his sword too while Edwin casted a fireball. The rebel evaded the fireball and slashed his sword to Jenkin's direction. Using his reflexes, Jenkin parried the sword and swung his sword. Edwin wanted to cast another fireball but he was afraid to hit Jenkin.

"Sword Technique! Zig Zag!" said the rebel

Suddenly, the rebel's sword movement became very fast. Being unable to keep up, the enemy's sword hitted Jenkin's left arm.

"Shit! Edwin do something!"

Edwin casted a thunderbolt and struck the rebel.

"Not bad! But take this!" as the rebel spoke that he casted an energy ball with his bare hands.

The energy ball hitted Edwin's gut. Sending Edwin to a wall.

"Shit. He can use magic too." said Jenkin as Edwin passes out

Jenkin unleashed his power and said "SWORD TECHNIQUE! OVERSLASH!"

Jenkin's sword pierced to the rebel's chest. The rebel died and Jenkin pulled out his sword that is full of blood. Jenkin ran into Edwin and carried him on the back. Soon, a man with a shiny gold armor appeared.

"Are you okay?" said the knight

"Yes we just killed a rebel but my friend here is unconscious." said Jenkin

"Follow me! Bring him to the town hall!"

Jenkin followed the knight as he carries Edwin on his back. Edwin was treated well in the town hall and he regained his consciousness. The attack has been stopped. The Oxeloads have fleed.

"Thank you sir." thanked Jenkin to the knight

"No. I did nothing. I'm the one who should thank you. You and your friend defeated a rebel by yourselves despite of your basic equipment."

"We were lucky enough to do that."

"Here take it. It's a reward for your help." said The Knight as he handed a purple colored sword and a sheet of paper.

"Thank you very much. This sword is very strong-looking and what is this?"

"It's a invitation for you and your friend to join our army."

"Wow. I would like to join!"

"Good. By the way, your name?"

"Jenkin and my friend there is Edwin."

"I'm Kalsin. The General of this army. Nice to meet you."

"General??? Eek..." Jenkin was suprised and saluted General Kalsin

"It's okay. Now i need to go. We need to make a plan for a counter attack. Now i'll excuse myself." the General said farewell and flew away using his black colored wings

"Woah! Is he a fairy?" said someone from Jenkin's back. It was Edwin.
Jenkin told him about what had happened and they joined the army.
