Chapter One

Leeda had been up for hours trying to force her wrist from the metal cuffs, her clothes were now covered in dirt as she tried to sleep on the hard surface and her skin and hair began to smell badly.

She paced the cave entrance waiting for something to move (at this point anything would of done she had been on her own for what seemed like years) She had also been trying in that time to escape the invisible wall that kept her prisoner.

But all Leeda succeeded in was making herself weaker, wearing herself out quickly physically as well as emotionally and making her pampered feet painful, Leeda couldn't come to terms that she had no magic they had somehow blocked her gift. Leeda also became aware that she was psychotic, being isolated for so long had started to play with her mind, she mentally split into two people as she often found herself talking as if she was the other person trapped in the cell with herself, she realized that it was her comeuppance after what she did to Angel. She also wondered if Ariel had forgotten about her.

"She wouldn't leave me here to die." She said. "She might if they found away to break the spell." in a way she hoped she did. She didn't want to go through whatever Ariel had planned for her, when she did finally turn up. The air around her had started to turn ice cold, "we need...I need to make a fire." She corrected as she rubbed her upper arms creating warmth, it had been chilly over the last few nights, but now she forced herself to swallow her pride and ask Hushi for blankets, matches and wood, something that could keep her warm, she also asked her for something soft to lay on, if this was going to be her home for the time being she couldn't keep sleeping on cold stone every night otherwise her health would start to fade, she also asked for more food so she didn't starve when Hushi missed a night.

"Goddess Hestia bless me with your fire. Fill this cold cave with your heat, let me feel it's warmth on my skin and banish the shivering in my bones. Bless it be!" as she spoke the words not knowing if it would work but to her surprise the piled logs started to ignite, giving off a warm glow that also gave her a sense of calm. "Thank you!" she spoke again crouching down in front of its burning flames getting as close as she could, thankful that her goddess still granted her some things even though a beginner could do it.

Laughter erupted behind her making Leeda jump, Hushi was stood at the entrance of the cave. "Do you really think that you could call upon a god for magic." She was cross arms her sniggering still made Leeda shiver. "I would not allow you to freeze witch not until your leaching soul is no longer joined to ours." Leeda's joy had plummeted dramatically after finding out that it was the dragon that light her fire.

Leeda heard more movement only this thing was making strange noise as it approached and then as it closed in on them she heard it hissing and growling at the same time, the air turned into an addictive mouth watering sweet smell that forced the smellers to find its origin, to follow where it comes from not stopping until it was in the hand and devoured, Leeda stood at the entrance that kept her trapped, she placed her palms flat on its invisible wall eager to find out what it belonged to. Hushi chuckled "Irresistible isn't it." She looked at Leeda briefly "Humans have been known to kill each other to keep our darling pets close." It's incredible smell got stronger, the sound was getting louder, now it came into view charging at her. Leeda stepped back as it continued to descend on her it didn't stop as it ploughed through the entrance making her jump as it reared up inches from her face. Leeda's heart pounded as she stumbled back landing hard on stony ledges, her eyes remaining locked on its beastly figure, it was a creature that was half snake and half hairy beast, it looked down at her with hungry eyes slowly slivering its flicking tongue over her fallen body, Leeda didn't realized she had been backing up as it approached her, scrambling on her hands and feet.
